In a remarkable press
conference on Thursday, Trump's acting chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, admitted
that aid to Ukraine had been held up because Trump wanted Ukraine to launch a
probe into his political opponents.
As reported by The Washington Post:
“We do that all the time with
foreign policy,” [Mulvaney] said when it was pointed out that he appeared to
be describing a quid pro quo. He added: "I have news for everybody: Get
over it. There’s going to be political influence in foreign policy.”
The Trump administration is so
flagrant in their disrespect of the rule of law that they'll openly admit
their wrongdoing. And they think they can get away with it because so far,
their Republican allies on Capitol Hill have dodged questions and made
excuses.
That has to change. Some things are more important than party politics -- and when it comes to stopping foreign interference in our elections, we need to put country above party. So please add your name to demand that Republicans break their silence and condemn the blatant wrongdoing -- which this White House has now admitted to.
Thank you,
