MY EVALUATION. PART 2: FINAL REPORT Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol.

 

THE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY.

Starts with the Testimony of an OATHKEEPER on why they were in the Capitol that day, and what motivated them:

"...were provoked to travel to Washington by President Donald Trump’s tweets and by Trump’s false claims that the 2020 Presidential election was “stolen” from him."

When asked by prosecutors to characterize his behavior that day, He Said:

 "I guess I was [acting] like a traitor, somebody against my own government."

The Executive Summary goes on to relate that many defendants who were charged for their behavior on Jan,6th expressed the same regrets and sense of shame for the criminal activities they engaged in. More Important, it seems Donald Trumps words and actions were just about the only motivating factor that triggered their behavior.

The Committee then summarized its conclusions; 

"This Report supplies an immense volume of information and testimony assembled through the Select Committee’s investigation, including information obtained following litigation in Federal district and appellate courts, as well as in the U.S. Supreme Court. Based upon this assembled evidence, the Committee has reached a series of specific findings, including the following:"

1- Beginning election night and continuing through January 6th and thereafter, Donald Trump purposely disseminated false allegations of fraud related to the 2020 Presidential election...

2- Knowing that he and his supporters had lost dozens of election lawsuits, and despite his own senior advisors refuting his election fraudclaims and urging him to concede his election loss, Donald Trumprefused to accept the lawful result of the 2020 election.

3- Despite knowing that such an action would be illegal...Donald Trump corruptly pressured Vice President Mike Pence to refuse to count electoral votes during Congress’s joint session on January 6th.

4- Donald Trump sought to corrupt the U.S. Department of Justice by attempting to enlist Department officials to make purposely false statements...

5- ...Donald Trump unlawfully pressured State officials and legislators to change the results of the election in their States.

6- Donald Trump oversaw an effort to obtain and transmit false electoral certificates to Congress and the National Archives.

7- Donald Trump pressured Members of Congress to object to valid slates of electors from several States. 

8- Donald Trump purposely verified false information filed in Federal court.

9- Based on false allegations that the election was stolen, Donald Trump summoned tens of thousands of supporters to Washington...Donald Trump instructed them to march to the Capitol on January 6th to “take back” their country.

10- Knowing that a violent attack on the Capitol was underway and knowing that his words would incite further violence, Donald Trump purposely sent a social media message publicly condemning Vice President Pence at 2:24 p.m. on January 6th. 

11. Knowing that violence was underway at the Capitol, and despite his duty to ensure that the laws are faithfully executed, Donald Trump refused repeated requests over a multiple hour period that he instruct his violent supporters to disperse and leave the Capitol, and instead watched the violent attack unfold on television. This failure to act perpetuated the violence at the Capitol and obstructed Congress’s proceeding to count electoral votes.

MY ANALYSIS- This is pretty straightforward. DONALD TRUMP WAS, LITERALLY, THE SOLE INSTIGATOR OF THE JAN 6TH ATTACK ON THE CAPITOL.

In fact, it seems he delegated very little of the actual Criminal Behavior to subordinates.

- The Planning.

- The Justification.

- The Threats and Intimidation.

- Attempted Corruption of 

Government Employees to go along

 with the plan.

All of this comes from him directly, although he 

did remain quiet about one thing: The Initial pleas

for him to go on the air and urge his supporters to stop the 

violence, and leave the capitol. He did nothing for hours, but just 

watched it on TV.

The fact DONALD TRUMP had no evidence that the election was stolen

from him, and that he lost every court case, meant nothing. All that mattered

is what he wanted*, and no U.S. CONSTITUTION WAS GOING TO GET IN HIS WAY.

I think Benedict Arnold was an amateur compared to this guy. Arnold wanted to betray West Point 

to the British. TRUMP WANTED TO BETRAY THE ENTIRE COUNTRY TO ITS ENEMIES,

 FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC.

Does it matter that it has nothing to do with the CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES, and  ATTEMPTED COVER-UPS OF THE GOP CRIME SYNDICATE? Nope. Rally your dwindling supporters by misdirecting their already limited attention span from events that are actually harming the American People, to a crisis you have manufactured, ignoring the following:

THAT THE PROBLEM OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS NO DIFFERENT NOW THEN IT WAS UNDER TRUMP, OBAMA, BUSH, CLINTON etc., The only real difference, was the proposed ways of dealing with it. We know what TRUMP, DESANTIS, ABBOTT and the rest of the NEO-NAZIS would do, but there is another way. However, that would have meant listening to the countries first BLACK PRESIDENT, AND USING RATIONAL AND WELL-REASONED SOLUTIONS THAT WOULD BENEFIT THE U.S. AS A NATION NOW, AND FAR IN THE FUTURE. (That would have made the country even stronger, but RUSSIA would not stand for that, and we know what that led to in 2016.)

What a Proud moment for CBS, NBC, ABC AND FOX.  Deciding not to give the President 10-15 minutes Air Time to explain his Decision regarding Immigration. After all, no one really cares, right?

I mean, how important is it to hear what the President has to say on the Issue, before passing Judgment?  It's not like opponents will pick and choose certain areas of the Text to Criticize, and take them out of context.

That has never been done before.

It wouldn't be something like a Public Service to have the President of this Great Nation, Speaking Live and Direct to its Citizens on an Issue of Historic Importance?

Opponents will never use a snub like this, to claim that there is some kind of CONSPIRACY BY THE PRESIDENT, to avoid speaking to a National Audience. IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT HE ASKED FOR THE TIME, AND WAS TURNED DOWN. THEY SAY HE REALLY DIDN'T WANT IT.  SO, IF THE PRESIDENT WAS REALLY HONEST, HE WOULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR ANY TIME AT ALL.

OPPONENTS CLAIM THAT MAKING HIS CASE TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC WAS SOMETHING HE NEVER WANTED TO DO.  THEREFORE, ACCORDING TO THIS REASONING,  ASKING FOR FACE TIME WITH THE CITIZENS OF THE U.S., WAS A WAY NOT TO GET IT.

(Yes, there are those who are pushing this incredibly Convoluted Nonsense, to let the NETWORKS OFF THE HOOK.)

But we know this often happened to past Presidents , being turned down for requested time to address the Nation.

Now where is that Classic Piece of Mindless Drivel that says there is a Liberal Bias in the Media?

He opens by praising the Two- Hundred Year+ History of the U.S. welcoming Immigrants from around the World, and the Advantages it has given the Country over other Nations.

However, he goes on to say:

"...Today, our immigration system is broken, and everybody knows it.  Families who enter our country the right way and play by the rules watch others flout the rules.  Business owners who offer their workers good wages and benefits see the competition exploit undocumented immigrants by paying them less."

From this passage we can take the following;

-  The President is acknowledging the State of the Immigration System, AND THE NEED FOR IT TO BE FIXED.

-  That the way the system is currently operated victimizes;  Legal Immigrants who follow the Law, and Honest Business Owners who offer good wages and benefits, who see competitors using undocumented workers to save money.

The President goes on to say;

"All of us take offense to anyone who reaps the rewards of living in America without taking on the responsibilities of living in America."

-  In other words, the Advantages and Responsibilities go hand and hand.  With one comes the other.

I WAS ASKED TO ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTION ON QUORA.COM: HOW CAN WE CREATE A MORE PATRIOTIC CITIZENRY?

MY ANSWER:

I have avoided answering any question regarding “PATRIOTISM.” Why? It’s a word that cannot really be defined in a way that is truly descriptive of a specific type of citizen.

How many people would agree that the following would be expected of a Patriot.

• Love of Country.

Do you love your country if you violate its Constitution?

Do you love your country if you are against its foreign policy?

Do you love your country if you cheat on your taxes?

Do you love your country if you choose to Abuse or Take advantage

of other citizens?

…and so on.

Guess what, we would find individuals claiming to be DIE HARD PATRIOTS,

who would say the opposition does not truly love their country, on all sides

of each issue.

To me, and it’s my opinion, a TRUE PATRIOT STANDS BACK, AND SAYS:

“I BELIEVE MY COUNTRY MUST COME FIRST, AND IT MAY MEAN THAT I MUST MAKE A SACRIFICE THAT WOULD ALLOW IT TO THRIVE. THIS MEANS CONSIDERING THE NEEDS AND WANTS OF OTHER CITIZENS WHICH ARE CONTRARY TO MY BELIEFS AND/OR MY DESIRES. HOWEVER, IF MY GOVERNMENT WANTS ME TO ALLOW THIS TO OCCUR, I EXPECT MY GOVERNMENT TO ENSURE THAT THEY DO THE SAME FOR ME. IF I EXPECT GOVERNMENT TO BE THERE FOR ME IN TIMES OF HARDSHIP, I WILL SUPPORT IT DOING THE SAME FOR OTHERS.

I REALIZE THAT GOVERNMENT MAY PASS OR ENACT LAWS THAT MAY BE CONTRARY TO WHAT I WANT, BUT I WILL CONSIDER THIS: IS IT DONE TO VICTIMIZE ME, OR IS IT DONE TO MAKE SOCIETY A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL TO LIVE IN. FREEDOM DOES NOT MEAN DOING ANYTHING I WANT, TO WHOMEVER I WANT, AND EXPECTING GOVERNMENT TO TURN A BLIND EYE.

HOWEVER, MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: WE ARE NOT AMERICANS, CHRISTIANS, MOSLEMS, EUROPEANS, ASIANS.etc.,…FIRST…WE ARE HUMANITY FIRST AND FOREMOST, ALL THE REST IS JUST CATEGORIZING US. A TRUE PATRIOT REALIZES THAT THEY ARE CITIZENS OF THE HUMAN RACE FIRST, AND CITIZENS OF A COUNTRY SECOND. START WITH DEFINING HUMAN RIGHTS, AND GO FROM THERE.”
