MY ANSWER:

What is your view on the rise of populism and secularism?

Populism is a term used for Candidates, or a Political Agenda that claim to be the “Voice of the Little Guy,” who feels like they have been ignored by the powers that be. The Common Man touch, the silent majority.

However, It is generally just an excuse to appeal to those whose Political Power has been diminished through Social and Economic changes that no longer gives them the advantages they use to have…

or

…a way of convincing those who are living through Dramatic Political, Economic, or Social Upheaval that the only solution is to destroy the current system of government, and place them in complete charge. (It doesn’t matter that the present Government may not be entirely at fault, or that the Populist may just be trying to sabotage a system that can work if properly administered. Most Importantly, you do not have to question or understand the motives of the Populist. They are your Savior.)

Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao Zedong etc., and Donald Trump, among others, have used this type of Political Strategy because of its Simplistic and Non-Threatening way of recruiting those who are not willing to understand that they may be part of the problem, if not most of it. It also requires no Intellectual Insight or Discipline to follow this form of Political Movement. Others are at fault, just nod your head and agree. You are told who to;

• Hate
• Blame
• Ignore or Disregard
• Discriminate Against

and most importantly, Lawfully Obey.

In simple terms, “Secularism” usually refers to Government, Public, or Social Agencies, Institutions, Departments etc., that were created for the Benefit and Proper Administration of programs that were Lawfully Created and Budgeted for, NOT BEING ALLOWED TO USE PRIVATE OR PERSONAL RELIGIOUS BELIEFS TO BE PART OF THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS ON WHETHER OR NOT SOMEONE IS ELIGIBLE FOR INCLUSION IN, OR ABLE TO RECEIVE BENEFITS FROM THESE TAX PAYER FUNDED ENTITIES.

Further, that CIVIL AND CRIMINAL LAW MUST BE SEPARATE FROM, AND NOT ALLOWED TO BE SUBJECT TO ANY FORM OF ECCLESIASTICAL AUTHORITY. Moral or Ethical Guidelines, as set forth in the U.S. CONSTITUTION, AND JUDICIAL PRECEDENT, were created to be set apart from those that were found in FAITH BASED DOCTRINE.

IN OTHER WORDS, Government has no BUSINESS IN INSTITUTING OR ESTABLISHING RELIGIOUS FAITH AS PART OF THE U.S. LEGAL SYSTEM. IN THE END, THAT IS WHAT “SECULAR” REALLY STANDS FOR.
