Yesterday, Jennifer told you
about a landmark case for LGBTQ equality that was just argued before the
Supreme Court.
There's another critical case the Court will hear this term that we need to talk to you about -- and it could be the biggest attack yet on Roe v. Wade in the Trump era. In 2016, the Court ruled that a Texas law that would have forced most clinics offering abortion care to close was unconstitutional. Now, the Court is considering a similar Louisiana law. The difference? Anthony Kennedy, the deciding vote in the 2016 case, has been replaced by Trump's anti-choice pick Brett Kavanaugh. There's a very real chance that Kavanaugh will tip the scales for draconian state laws that impose impossible burdens on health clinics, force them to close, and deny millions of patients access to reproductive healthcare. So we have to speak out powerfully for the right to choose now. Can you add your name to Jennifer's petition? We need to show the Supreme Court that citizens across the country want Roe v. Wade protected.
Thank you,
