Trump tried to fire Mueller. U.S. SENATOR CORY BOOKER.

David,

The New York Times is reporting that for a second time this past December President Trump has tried to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to this report by saying that President Trump “certainly believes he has the power” to fire the Special Counsel.

The American people deserve answers and a full accounting of Russian meddling in our elections.

We can’t let President Trump fire Special Counsel Mueller...Congress must act to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller from being fired and allow him to complete his investigation.

Republicans and Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee are working in a bipartisan way to pass the Special Counsel Independence and Integrity Act out of Committee to protect Robert Mueller from being fired by President Trump and to preserve documents related to the investigation.

But Republican leadership in the Senate still isn’t on board.

With President Trump’s threats to fire the special counsel growing more serious every day, we can’t afford to wait any longer.

...stand with Cory and believe Congress must take action to protect Special Counsel Mueller and his investigation into Russian meddling in our elections.
