Elon Musk makes offer to buy Twitter
On Thursday, billionaire Elon Musk announced he had made a bid the day prior to buy Twitter at $54.20 per share. This offer comes just weeks after he became Twitter’s largest shareholder and turned down a seat on the company's board of directors.
WHAT IT REALLY MEANS: "I BOUGHT A 9.2% SHARE OF TWITTER, AND WAS OFFERED A SEAT ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. HOWEVER, THEY STILL PLAN ON KEEPING STANDARDS ABOUT NOT ALLOWING MEMBERS TO TWEET FALSE AND UNSUBSTANTIATED INFORMATION. I'M GOING TO PUT A STOP TO THAT, BECAUSE DONALD TRUMP AND HIS FOLLOWERS MUST BE HEARD, JUST LIKE ON FOXNEWS. THE TRUTH BE DAMNED."
Russia threatens nuclear escalation in the Baltics if Sweden and Finland join NATO
On Thursday, the Russian Deputy Chief of the security council and former president Dmitry Medvedev said "there can be no talk of non-nuclear status for the Baltic" in case Finland and Sweden decide to become members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Both countries have expressed their intention to join the Alliance following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
WHAT IT REALLY MEANS- "YOU DARE TO STAND UP TO US, AND ARE LETTING THE WHOLE WORLD KNOW. WELL, WE WILL THREATEN ALL COUNTRIES, AND TEACH THEM TO THINK TWICE ABOUT BLOCKING OUR PLANS TO RECREATE THE "IRON CURTAIN."
The Republican National Committee (RNC) voted Thursday to withdraw from the commission responsible for organizing presidential debates,taking a line from former President Trump who has repeatedly leveled accusations of Anti-Republican bias against the group.
WHAT IT REALLY MEANS- "WE WANT A FORMAT THAT DOES NOT EXPOSE OUR CANDIDATES LACK OF INTELLECTUAL DEPTH, OR LEAD TO QUESTIONS THAT THE CANDIDATE CAN NOT ANSWER DUE TO IGNORANCE OF THE SUBJECT MATTER, OR WHERE A TRUTHFUL REPLY WOULD BE HARMFUL TO THE GOPS CHANCE OF WINNING THE ELECTION."
