After Watching one of the INNUMERABLE TV COMMERCIALS PROMOTING "THE LAW OFFICES OF...," PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEYS SPECIALIZING IN PROTECTING THE INJURED FROM "CHEAPSKATE" INSURANCE COMPANIES, I NOTICED A NEW ELEMENT: PREVIOUS "CLIENTS" RELATING HOW THE SETTLEMENT THEY GOT FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY, (THANKS TO THE SPONSORING LAW OFFICE), WAS THE "BIGGEST CHECK" THEY HAD EVER RECEIVED.
That left me Curious; Was it the Biggest Insurance Settlement Check They had ever received, or the Biggest Check, (Including Paychecks), They Had ever been issued in Their Lives? This was not made clear.
To Further introduce this Subject, consider the following Two Cases:
- A Number of Years ago a Man applied for Life Insurance with a Certain Company. On the Application it asked Him if he was a Smoker. Even though he was, on a Daily Basis, he answered "NO." He Realized that Admitting the Truth would raise his Premiums. Years Later he is Killed from Injuries he Suffered during an Auto Accident. An Investigation into the Cause of Death Revealed that he was a Regular Smoker, and had been for Years. The Family Attempted to Collect the Death Benefit Guaranteed by the Policy, but it was Denied by the Insurer. The Family Then Sued to Receive...
- A Man Applies for Life Insurance. On the Application, it asked about His Employment History, and if he engaged in Certain Activities on his Off Time, Specifically Hunting, Skydiving, or Scuba Diving. He Answered Truthfully in the Negative. A Few Years Later, he was Killed while Kayaking Down a Major River. The Insurer Denied the Claim, so the Family was Forced to take Them to Court...
