This isn’t a fundraising email, and we’re not writing to you about tonight’s FEC deadline either. But it’s one of the most important emails you’ll receive today.

At the Clint Border Facility in Clint, TX — just outside of El Paso — more than 100 children are being detained in conditions so unsafe and inhumane that it’s being called “a public health crisis.” Children caring for other children, sleeping on concrete floors, and lacking the most basic care and supplies like toothbrushes, soap, or beds. This is happening, right now, in our nation’s name and under our government’s watch.

Conventional wisdom tells us that today we should be hosting big fundraising events and making phone calls to donors. But this is a human rights crisis that demands immediate action. These children deserve respect, dignity, and humane living conditions. Moving them out of these facilities quickly, providing them adequate shelter and support, and uniting them with family members should be this administration’s immediate priority.

That’s why Beto just held a rally outside of the facility with political leaders and activists from all over the country to demand that this mistreatment of children — as well as the separating of families and indefinite detainment of immigrants — immediately end.

Last year, on Father’s Day, Beto led a march to raise awareness about the mistreatment and detention of children at the Tornillo facility in El Paso, where thousands of migrants were being detained. He continued to return to the camp until all of the children were successfully released and the facility was shut down.

This crisis in Clint, TX demands our attention now. And as the current administration launches cruel attack after cruel attack upon immigrants, asylum seekers, and children, we must continue to fight.

WHAT WE'VE ACCOMPLISHED TOGETHER. VIRGINIA ATTORNEY GENERAL MARK HERRING.

David, In 2013 we celebrated an incredible victory. It took thousands of phone calls and doors knocked (and came down to only 907 votes!), but we won and made history – together. Our victory was born out of a promise to make progress for all Virginians, and Mark is off to a great start: 1) Just 12 days into office, Mark had to act on the lawsuit challenging Virginia’s same-sex marriage ban. The answer was clear – the ban violates the U.S. Constitution. Two federal courts agreed, and in October, couples across Virginia could finally marry: 2) When outside states as far away as Alaska attacked efforts to clean up the Chesapeake Bay, Mark entered the fight by filing a brief with the court to fight for our restoration plan for the Bay. 3) Because every college student deserves to be safe and feel safe on campus, Mark is chairing the Governor’s Task Force on Combating Campus Sexual Violence. The Task Force is working on solutions to help Virginia colleges end sexual assault on their campuses and will deliver its recommendations in June. 4) Attending a Virginia college became more affordable for thousands of young DREAMers when Mark announced that some immigrants brought to the country as young children were eligible for in-state tuition: 5) Mark is taking on payday and car title lenders when they are exploiting families and trapping them in a cycle of debt. 6) He is working with law enforcement across the state to keep our neighborhoods and communities safe by responding to emerging public safety threats, like heroin and prescription drug abuse, human trafficking, and gun and gang violence.  And after all that, we’re looking forward to the rest of 2016 and another year of moving Virginia forward... – Team Herring Contribute Contribute Paid for by One Commonwealth PAC

Do you mean "FEAR" of having the future course of Judicial Precedents decided by DONALD TRUMP, whose behavior while in the WHITE HOUSE is often considered to be IRRATIONAL AND VINDICTIVE?

CONSTITUTION, nominated JUDGE MERRICK GARLAND TO FILL THE VACANCY.       

The following passage is taken from the U.S. CONSTITUTION.

"...and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the Supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for..."

However, for the first time in U.S. HISTORY, THE U.S. SENATE DID NOT MEET TO QUESTION
THE NOMINEE, SO THAT THEY COULD "ADVISE" THE PRESIDENT, AND VOTE TO APPROVE OR DISAPPROVE OF THE JUDGE GARLAND NOMINATION. SENATE MAJORITY LEADER MITCH MCCONNELL DECIDED THAT CONSTITUTIONAL LAW IS NOT A DUTY OR OBLIGATION THAT THE U.S. SENATE HAS, BUT CAN BE FOLLOWED WHENEVER THEY FEEL LIKE IT. SO, HE REFUSED TO SEAT THE SENATE TO ACT ON THE NOMINATION.

GIVEN SENATOR MCCONNELLS LEGISLATIVE HISTORY, I DON'T EXPECT MUCH IN THE WAY OF FAIR AND INTELLECTUALLY JUSTIFIABLE REASONS FOR THE POLITICAL AGENDA HE PUSHES. HOWEVER, THE DEMOCRATIC PARTIES REFUSAL TO FILE SUIT, AND BRING THIS MATTER INTO COURT TO FORCE MCCONNELL AND OTHER REPUBLICANS TO OBEY THE OATH THEY TOOK TO "SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION," SHOWED AN INEXPLICABLE LACK OF MORAL AND INTELLECTUAL COURAGE. It's National Gun Violence Awareness Month. JENNIFER WEXTON.

It’s a time to remember those who have been taken from us in acts of senseless gun violence -- and a time to redouble our efforts to reform our laws so we can limit these tragedies. Today, an entire generation is burdened with a lifetime of student debt that leaves them less likely to own a home, and with lower wages and more debt than generations before them. We should not be punishing people for getting a college education.

We need the best-educated workforce in the world if we're going to compete effectively in the global economy. To do that, we must make certain that every person in this country who has the desire can get all the education they need — regardless of their race, their gender, their ZIP code, or the income of their family.

A full and complete education, from child care through college, must be a human right accessible to anyone who wants it.

It is a tragedy that hundreds of thousands of young people are giving up their dream of going to college because it is too expensive. As the UNITED STATES Endures the Horror and Tragedy of another Multiple Victim Shooting Incident, Involving Individual(s) who had access to Assault Weapons, will it finally motivate Republicans into adopting stricter gun control laws? Probably not. Let's face it, if the slaughter of small children at SANDY HOOK COULDN'T MOVE THEM INTO ACTION, WHY DO YOU THINK THE MASSACRE OF HELPLESS INDIVIDUALS IN LAS VEGAS WOULD LEAD TO CHANGE?

In the past, the NRA AND THEIR CRONIES* IN GOVERNMENT HAVE REFUSED TO ENACT LAWS MANDATING BACKGROUND CHECKS, WHICH WOULD INCLUDE CRIMINAL AND MENTAL HEALTH GUIDELINES. In addition, RESTRICTING ASSAULT WEAPONS TO THE MILITARY AND POLICE FORCES,(Who actually REQUIRE BACKGROUND CHECKS BEFORE YOU ARE HANDED A FIREARM, LET ALONE ONE THAT CAN CAUSE DOZENS OF CASUALTIES IN A FEW MINUTES), SEEMS TO BE A CONCEPT THEY HAVE TROUBLE GRASPING.

Knowing what we do about INVALIDLY ELECTED PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP AND HIS ADMINISTRATION, CAN WE EXPECT LOGIC AND REASON TO FINALLY MOTIVATE THOSE WHO OPPOSE ANY FORM OF GUN CONTROL TO CHANGE?  

I have already written about the CONSTITUTIONAL ISSUES, and will do so again in the future. However, LOGIC AND REASON IS NOT THEIR STRONG SUIT, SO REPUBLICANS USE DIFFERENT MESSAGES TO IGNORE, AVOID, AND CONFUSE THOSE WHO SEEK TO UNDERSTAND THE MOTIVATIONS FOR DOING NOTHING.

   ON CONTROLLING  CAMPAIGN SPENDING.

-  PROVIDING SANCTUARY FOR WAR REFUGEES 

   FROM SYRIA.

-  STRICT OVERSIGHT OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS.

...AND, OF COURSE, COMPREHENSIVE GUN CONTROL

   LAWS.

                                                   FOR THE PEOPLE...?

Now, add Donald Trump to the mix.  WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO HAPPEN?  HOW DOES THE OPPOSITION INTIMIDATE A "PRESIDENT" WHO ATTAINED OFFICE THROUGH A SHAM ELECTION, THAT THEY DIDN'T CONTEST?
