FEATURE ARTICLES- THE SHAME OF THE 2016 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. PART 1.

Lets take this one step at a time:

-  As the Totals are being finalized, it seems that while Donald Trump has the Electoral Votes 
needed to be victorious, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote.

However, we'll put that aside for now.

In an earlier pre-election article I said;



"WHY? BECAUSE HIS CHANCES OF BEING ELECTED PRESIDENT,( Referring to Donald Trump), ARE LARGELY DEPENDENT UPON THE FOLLOWING:

THAT ON ELECTION DAY, EXTREMIST VOTERS, AND THOSE WHO SUPPORT THEM, TURN OUT IN 
NUMBERS THAT OVERCOME THE PROGRESSIVE VOTE.

YES, THE EXTREMIST ELEMENT PROBABLY CONSTITUTES A DEFINITE MINORITY, SO IT CAN BE OVERCOME RATHER EASILY, RIGHT?

TELL THAT TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, AND THOSE MEMBERS WHO ARE LEFT DISTANCING 
THEMSELVES FROM IT, DUE TO DISAPPOINTMENT AND DISGUST.

There is a simple Truth that Progressives have to learn, if the advances made during the Obama Administration ARE TO BE MAINTAINED, AND PROTECTED.

IT IS ALSO THE KEY TO FUTURE PROGRESSIVE POLICIES BECOMING LAW, AND THE NEED TO ELECT LEGISLATORS WHO UNDERSTAND THAT THE ADVANCEMENTS MADE IN THE LAST 8 YEARS REPRESENT REAL POSITIVE CHANGE.

MISOGYNY, RACISM, HOMOPHOBIA, XENOPHOBIA etc., ARE NOT DEAL BREAKERS
FOR HARD CORE TRUMP SUPPORTERS."

That is exactly what happened.

It is claimed that many BERNIE SANDERS supporters stayed home, and would not support Hillary Clinton.

To those voters I would say:

"You wouldn't support a candidate who shares the same basic values that Bernie does, 
to the point where there isn't a lot of difference between the two.  Had the Senate gone Democrat, Bernie Sanders would have achieved a position of Power and Influence, where his HUMANITY AND DECENCY WOULD HAVE BEEN DIRECTED AT MAINTAINING, AND POSSIBLY EXPANDING THE GAINS OF THE LAST EIGHT YEARS."

No, by staying home, you have handed this country over to a Unscrupulous Demagogue, who had the support of the Racists, Xenophobes, Homophobes etc., who by the way, did show up to vote. 

YOU SHOULD REALLY BE PROUD.
