MAYBE IF BIDEN SAID THINGS LIKE THIS, PELOSI, CLOONEY, AND OTHER "DEMOCRATS" WOULD CHANGE THEIR MIND...

REPORT DATE: 9/30/2022- On Truth Social Trump said this about Mitch McConnells approval of certain Democratic Legislation;

Trump asked if McConnell had supported the unspecified bills "because he hates Donald J. Trump, and he knows I am opposed to them."

“He has a DEATH WISH,” Trump added.

Trump said McConnell must “immediately seek help and advice from his China loving wife, Coco Chow!”

I see it clearly now. Having a subpar performance in a debate should stop your candidacy, no matter how many lies your opponent utters during the same Debate, but THREATS AND RACIAL SLURS MAKE YOU MUCH MORE ELECTABLE.

I guess we should then ignore the current Presidents Record, which I would have thought would be of extreme importance, because the conclusion is that he is unable to defeat a convicted felon who tried to overthrow a lawfully elected Government.

I guess we had things all mixed up. SOCIOPATHY "TRUMPS" INTEGRITY.

A Dangerous Double Standard. By Dan Rather and Team Steady

NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER OF THIS SITE DAVID MCDONALD: Mr. Rather, Thank you for being one of the few voices in the Media, (This includes the so-called Progressive TV and Radio Outlets.), for pointing out the OUTRAGEOUS DOUBLE STANDARDS when it comes to reporting on statements and comments made by each candidate. Biden has one sub-par night and for weeks all we hear is how and why he should drop out of the Race. Really? Given all the Half-Witted, Inflammatory, Unmitigated Lies and Threats Trump makes on a regular basis, it is an OUTRIGHT DISGRACE THAT PEOPLE ARE QUESTIONING PRESIDENT BIDENS MENTAL STABILITY WHILE IGNORING THE SOCIOPATHIC DIATRIBE OF TRUMP. It is a flagrant grab for ratings, possibly to pull in those "High Quality" Intellects that use FOX NEWS as their sole source News and Information. BTW for all of you Biden Haters who point out that there are fellow Democrats who think he should drop out, exactly what # of sitting members of Congress does this constitute? A total of 7 House Reps out of 213 and 0 Senators. WOW, the TRUMPOCRATS must be on to something.

NOW THE ARTICLE: A DANGEROUS DOUBLE STANDARD.

What a weekend. You know I have seen some things in my seven decades covering American politics. I have never seen anything quite like the wrangling, hand-wringing, and behind-the-scenes gamesmanship currently swirling around President Biden. These are compounded by the one-sided media coverage against Biden. And it isn’t over yet.

One thing is for certain: If Biden stays in the race, every step, every word, every gesture will be parsed, dissected, and magnified. This is the reality, at least for the Democrats. Trump? Not so much. Or really, very little.

Case in point: On Friday, Biden sat down with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos. In the transcript of the interview released by ABC, Biden said, “I’ll feel as long as I gave it my all and I did the goodest job as I know I can do, that’s what this is about.” Several news organizations and the White House took issue with the word “goodest.” According to The New York Times, the ABC standards team listened again to the audio and changed “goodest” to “good as.” According to the Times, “Mr. Biden’s actual words at that point in the interview were difficult to make out and open to interpretation.”

So here we are — one slightly hard to discern word in an otherwise coherent interview. And then there is the other guy. The one who can’t seem to string together a single coherent sentence — a fact news organizations don’t even bother mentioning any more. Try making sense of this gobbledegook from Trump’s remarks at a recent rally in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania:

“Our nation was saved by the immortal heroes at Gettysburg. Gettysburg, what an unbelievable battle that was. The battle of Gettysburg, what an unbelievable. I mean it was so, was so much, and so interesting, and so vicious and horrible, and so beautiful in so many different ways — it represented such a big portion of the success of this country. Gettysburg, wow! I go to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to look and to watch. And uh the statement of Robert E. Lee, who’s no longer in favor — did you ever notice that? He’s no longer in favor. ‘Never fight uphill, me boys, never fight uphill.’ They were fighting uphill, he said. Wow, that was a big mistake, he lost his great general and uh they were fighting uphill. ‘Never fight uphill, me boys,’ but it was too late.”

What?? You may not have heard about this because it was “lightly” reported, i.e. not a word from The Washington PostThe New York Times, CNN, or the Associated Press. Jon Stewart did mention it on “The Daily Show,” saying it was “plagiarized, almost directly, from my seventh-grade book report, ‘Gettysburg, Wow.’”

Why are the rules so different for these two men? Both should be held accountable for their deeds and words. But they aren’t. Trump gets pass after pass.

The Republicans have hitched their wagon to a cult leader. They are willing to do just about anything to win back the White House: lie; obliterate the rules; blindly back a convicted felon, a cheater, a sexual assaulter, a Project 2025 promoter, a dictator on day one, and an insurrectionist. Maybe they should change their MAGA caps to say “The ends justify the means.”

The Democrats have, to this point, backed the president, a decent man who has devoted his life to the service of the country. Now that the proverbial chips are somewhere near rock-bottom, the party doesn’t know what to do. Remain loyal to a man who has objectively done a very good job after the debacle that was the Trump administration, and risk Trump 2.0? Or nudge Biden out in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris or any number of untested contenders? The finger-pointing and “blames-manship” will be epic if Trump wins. Where is this headed? As my father said, “he who lives by the crystal ball learns to eat a lot of broken glass.”

But for those of us who believe in the great American Experiment — a constitutional republic based on the principles of freedom and democracy — this is what it looks like, folks. It’s raucous, sometimes ugly, painful, and chock full of anxiety. But one thing we can do and are doing is speak freely. That could all change. Imagine a world where the Trump police track down naysayers and truth tellers. He has vowed retribution, even military tribunals for his political enemies. And then he would not be subject to prosecution. In our system of government, we have the right to question our leaders. If Trump wins, that could quickly disappear.

In the confusion, uncertainty, and anxiety of the moment, and amidst all the disappointing media coverage, it is time to remind ourselves once again what is at stake in this election.

I ANSWERED THE FOLLOWING QUESTION ON QUORA.COM: Does a lack of empathy always indicate a bad person, or can good people simply not empathize with certain topics?

The inability to “EMPATHIZE” is not a crime, but it is also not an excuse for Unethical or Criminal Behavior.

One of The accepted characteristics of a Sociopath is a lack of Empathy. Yet, the Sociopath is not Mentally Ill as judged by our Criminal Justice System. They are fully capable of understanding that certain actions and behaviors are not Morally, Socially, Civilly, or Criminally Acceptable by the General Public or Law Enforcement. They may not like it, but are Intellectually Capable of adjusting their behavior to obey Societies Laws and Mores.

If a person considers their lack of EMPATHY not as an advantage to spend life Using and Abusing others, but as a Handicap that can be overcome by looking at Life and Social Interactions through the disciplines of LOGIC AND CRITICAL THINKING, then the accomplishments of THE INTELLECT BENEFITTING OTHERS CAN LEAD TO A SENSE OF SATISFACTION AND ACHIEVEMENT THAT TRANSCENDS THE IMMEDIATE GRATIFICATION, OR INFLATED SENSE OF “GOD” LIKE POWER THAT THE SOCIOPATH OFTEN LIVES THEIR LIFE SEEKING.*

(REMEMBER, A PSYCHOPATH HAS AN ACTUAL CHEMICAL OR PHYSICAL ABNORMALITY IN THE BRAIN, THAT OFTEN LEADS TO DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOR. OUR CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM RECOGNIZES THIS. HOWEVER, A SOCIOPATH HAS NO SUCH PROBLEM(S).

Happy Independence Day! Eugene Vindman.

Eugene Vindman for Congress

David —

Today marks an important day in our nation's history. 248 years ago, our founding fathers ratified the Declaration of Independence and freed our country and people from the oppressive control of the monarchy. As a Ukrainian immigrant and Army veteran, this day means a great deal to me.

However, today — in 2024 — our country and democracy are once again at a critical juncture as we face the threat of MAGA extremism and Donald Trump.

Our democracy hangs in the balance. Earlier this week, Trump’s hand-picked Supreme Court Justices ruled that he has absolute immunity from prosecution for “official acts” and will not be prosecuted for inciting the January 6th insurrection.

Justice Sotomayor said it best in her dissent: “In every use of official power, the president is now a king above the law.”

248 years after gaining independence, our country stands at the same crossroads, where our choices will determine whether we uphold democracy or fall to autocratic control.

So, David, as we celebrate the independence and freedoms our founding fathers fought long and hard for, we must also remember that our democracy itself is vulnerable under the rule of MAGA Republicans.

Today we rest and celebrate the day with our friends and family. But tomorrow, we will get back to work, fighting to take back the House and keep the Senate and the presidency. Because that is how we will protect and continue to preserve this fragile experiment that is our democracy.

Happy 4th.

Eugene Vindman

Eugene Vindman stood up to Donald Trump even when it cost him his career. That led to Trump's first impeachment.

Now that Eugene is running for Congress, Trump and the MAGA-right are doing everything they can to keep him out of Congress.

If you believe Eugene is the kind of leader we deserve in Congress, please consider making a donation today.
