BLAST FROM THE PAST: THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ALLOW CONSTITUTIONAL LAW AND A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION TO BECOME CORRUPTED BY SELF-SERVING POLITICIANS, INCOMPETENT JURISTS, AND AMORAL LAWMAKERS.

REMEMBERING TRUMPS DISGRACE: ARTICLES AND POSTS FROM HIS IMPEACHMENT. BREAKING DOWN THE MUELLER REPORT: A BRIEF TIMEOUT. PART 3. IMPORTANT UPDATE..

FROM NPR NEWS- 6/27/2019.
In a 5-4 decision along traditional conservative-liberal ideological lines, the Supreme Court ruled that partisan redistricting is a political question — not reviewable by federal courts — and that those courts can't judge if extreme gerrymandering violates the Constitution.

WHAT DO YOU GET WHEN YOU IGNORE CONSTITUTIONAL LAW, AND ALLOW THE OPPOSITION TO CONTROL THE SELECTION PROCESS FOR A NEW SUPREME COURT JUSTICE?

OR

WHAT DO YOU GET WHEN YOU DO NOT CHALLENGE BOGUS RETURNS IN A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, HANDING THE WHITE HOUSE TO A SELF - CENTERED DEMAGOGUE?

ANSWER TO BOTH.

YOU GET DONALD TRUMPS CHOICE FOR THE SUPREME COURT.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

THE FOLLOWING IS TAKEN FROM JUDGE BRETT KAVANAUGHS TESTIMONY BEFORE THE SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, REGARDING ACCUSATIONS MADE AGAINST HIM.

"This whole two-week effort has been a calculated and orchestrated political hit, fueled with apparent pent-up anger about president trump and the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record. Revenge on behalf of the Clintons and millions of dollars in money from outside left-wing opposition groups. This is a circus. The consequences will extend long past my nomination. The consequences will be with us for decades."

WHAT AN INTELLECT!! FITS IN WITH TRUMP AND MCCONNELL PERFECTLY.
WHAT ELSE CAN WE TAKE FROM THIS?

#1. Anger-  Does this reference the Unconstitutional denial of President Barack Obamas choice for the Supreme Court, Merrick Garland, a chance to testify before the Senate, to be followed by a public vote?

BUT YOU'RE BEING TREATED UNFAIRLY. REALLY?

#2. President Trump and the 2016 Election- You mean an election with Bogus Returns in at least 6 States that handed Donald Trump the White House, paving the way for him placing 2 Judges on the Supreme Court.

Do you mean "FEAR" of having the future course of Judicial Precedents decided by DONALD TRUMP, whose behavior while in the WHITE HOUSE is often considered to be IRRATIONAL AND VINDICTIVE?

#3. Revenge on behalf of the Clintons- I assume you have the facts to back this up, since this is a direct accusation. Also, Do you mean that the Clintons planned and executed these plans directly, or are unwitting pawns that had no knowledge about the attempt to create this "Circus"?

IS THIS HOW A SUPREME COURT JUSTICE SHOULD CONDUCT HIMSELF IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY?

Washington Dc, Boulevard, Avenue, Street

So, What do I mean when I say: TODAYS DONALD TRUMP IS WHAT
HE WAS ALLOWED TO BECOME...

Ask yourself the following question: OF THE THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT;  EXECUTIVE, LEGISLATIVE, AND JUDICIAL, WHAT IS THE HIGHEST OFFICE/MOST POWERFUL POSITION THAT CAN BE OCCUPIED IN EACH BRANCH?

ANSWER.

EXECUTIVE-    PRESIDENT OF THE U.S.

LEGISLATIVE-  U.S. SENATE MAJORITY LEADER.
SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REP.

JUDICIAL-        ONE OF THE NINE MEMBERS OF THE
                       U.S. SUPREME COURT.

Now, in most recent history, what events have most influenced the
current state of each office.

For that, let's go back a few years.

THE SUPREME COURT.

On FEB,13, 2016 SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ANTONIN SCALIA passed away.
THEN PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA, following procedures Set forth in the U.S.
CONSTITUTION, nominated JUDGE MERRICK GARLAND TO FILL THE VACANCY.

The following passage is taken from the U.S. CONSTITUTION.

"...and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the Supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for..."

However, for the first time in U.S. HISTORY, THE U.S. SENATE DID NOT MEET TO QUESTION
THE NOMINEE, SO THAT THEY COULD "ADVISE" THE PRESIDENT, AND VOTE TO APPROVE OR DISAPPROVE OF THE JUDGE GARLAND NOMINATION. SENATE MAJORITY LEADER MITCH MCCONNELL DECIDED THAT CONSTITUTIONAL LAW IS NOT A DUTY OR OBLIGATION THAT THE U.S. SENATE HAS, BUT CAN BE FOLLOWED WHENEVER THEY FEEL LIKE IT. SO, HE REFUSED TO SEAT THE SENATE TO ACT ON THE NOMINATION.

GIVEN SENATOR MCCONNELLS LEGISLATIVE HISTORY, I DON'T EXPECT MUCH IN THE WAY OF FAIR AND INTELLECTUALLY JUSTIFIABLE REASONS FOR THE POLITICAL AGENDA HE PUSHES. HOWEVER, THE DEMOCRATIC PARTIES REFUSAL TO FILE SUIT, AND BRING THIS MATTER INTO COURT TO FORCE MCCONNELL AND OTHER REPUBLICANS TO OBEY THE OATH THEY TOOK TO "SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION," SHOWED AN INEXPLICABLE LACK OF MORAL AND INTELLECTUAL COURAGE. WHAT MESSAGE DO YOU THINK THIS SENT TO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY? TO BAD, IT WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING.

HERE IS A "TRUMPNEWS" UPDATE. (AP NEWS, AND YAHOO NEWS.)

Woodward says Trump has 'lost his way, not just as a president but as a human being'

Bob Woodward said President Trump’s false claim at a town hall this week that he never sought to downplay the threat of the coronavirus shows Trump has “lost his way, not just as president but as a human being trying to assess what’s real and what’s unreal.”

In a wide-ranging live interview with Yahoo News Editor in Chief Daniel Klaidman and Chief Investigative Correspondent Michael Isikoff for the “Skullduggery” podcast Thursday, Woodward said Trump’s assertion during the ABC town hall that he “up-played” the threat of COVID-19 to Americans was “so confusing, it makes you dizzy.”

“This idea of up-playing, I don’t think that’s even a word,” Woodward said. “Now it will be in one of those slang dictionaries.”

In a Feb. 7 interview for Woodward’s new book, “Rage,” Trump told him that he knew the virus — which has now killed over 190,000 Americans — was “more deadly than even your strenuous flus.”

“You just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed,” Trump said, adding: “This is deadly stuff.”

But publicly, Trump sought to downplay the virus, which he acknowledged in another interview with Woodward on March 19.

“I wanted to always play it down,” he said. “I still like playing it down, because I don’t want to create a panic.”

Woodward has faced sharp criticism for not disclosing Trump’s private recognition of the danger posed by the coronavirus months ago, when it might have affected the course of the pandemic.

He said that at the time of Trump’s Feb. 7 comments, there were few cases in the U.S. of the virus, which originated in Wuhan, China.

“It was a China story,” Woodward said. And when Trump acknowledged he was downplaying the threat of COVID-19 in late March, Woodward said the public already knew how infectious it was.

Woodward, who conducted 19 on-the-record interviews with Trump for the book, said he asked Trump at one point what he considered to be the job of the president.

“He said, ‘To protect the people, that is job No. 1,’” Woodward recalled. “‘Job No. 2 is to tell the truth.’”

Woodward said Trump’s failure to do either of those “saddens” him.

And it’s also why the legendary author, who has written books on presidents dating back to Richard Nixon, said he felt a responsibility to conclude his latest with the assessment that Trump is “the wrong man for the job.

“You can’t duck what is an obvious conclusion,” Woodward said.

Ex-Pence adviser says Trump bungled VIRUS; SHES FOR BIDEN.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A former adviser to Vice President Mike Pence who served on the White House coronavirus task force says President Donald Trump once suggested that COVID-19 might be a good thing because it would stop him from having to shake hands with “disgusting people."

Olivia Troye is the latest former member of the Trump administration to speak out against him and urge voters to deny him a second term. She joins a growing list that includes Miles Taylor, former chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security, and former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci.

Trump said Thursday that he did not know Troye, who was Pence's homeland security adviser.

In a video released Thursday by the group Republican Voters Against Trump, Troye says working for Trump was “terrifying” and says he was more concerned about his reelection chances than about protecting the nation from the virus.

“The truth is he doesn't actually care about anyone else but himself,” she says.

Troye alleges that, during one task force meeting she attended, the president said: “'Maybe this COVID thing is a good thing. I don’t like shaking hands with people. I don’t have to shake hands with these disgusting people.'”

“Those disgusting people are the same people that he claims to care about. These are the people still going to his rallies today who have complete faith in who he is,” she says, insisting, “If the president had taken this virus seriously, or if he had actually made an effort to tell how serious it was, he would have slowed the virus spread, he would have saved lives."

Asked about Troye as he left the White House late Thursday for a campaign rally in Wisconsin, Trump said he had no idea who Troye is.

SEPTEMBER 22nd: MEET THE SECOND SERVICE COALITION. MAURA SULLIVAN.

David,

In the Marines, I learned what it means to serve something bigger than myself. Amidst what has been a troubling year in our politics, the remarkable service veterans I ran alongside in 2018 have given me hope. They've shown us that when Members of Congress put country before party and service before self, it can forever change the face of our politics.

Recognizing the need to increase the number of service veterans in Congress, Reps. Mikie Sherrill, Jason Crow, Chrissy Houlahan, and Max Rose formed the Second Service Coalition to support the nine service veterans we helped elect in 2018, as well as usher in the next class of veteran candidates. The candidates they've endorsed to join them in Congress have served our country in the military, the foreign service, and in the classroom. They're running in some of the most competitive swing districts across the country, and I'm thrilled to support them all.

I'm proud to call many members of this coalition my friends. I served with Elissa Slotkin and Dan Feehan at the Pentagon in the Obama administration, and I got to know Mikie Sherrill, Chrissy Houlahan, and Max Rose on the campaign trail in 2018. More than just friendship, I'm so enthusiastic about this coalition because I know that they embody the values of servant leadership that Washington so desperately needs.

I hope you'll join me in supporting these inspirational leaders. The Second Service Coalition will hold its final fundraiser of the election cycle from 6:30-8:30PM on Tuesday, September 22nd and your support would make all the difference.

RSVP and contribute here, and I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday!

In service,
Maura Sullivan

Meet We Decide 2020, the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts' biweekly newsletter, providing you with updates about our electoral work, upcoming actions, and candidates we're supporting to protect and expand abortion care and reproductive & sexual health in Massachusetts.

Checking In with Dr. Jennifer Childs-Roshak

www.searchingforreason.net,

I'm thrilled to welcome you to the first installment of the Advocacy Fund's election newsletter: We Decide 2020.
You are the backbone of our work, so we want to keep you updated about the candidates we're supporting and the ways that you can help send these champions to Beacon Hill. Every other week, the Advocacy Fund will send out We Decide 2020 to spotlight a candidate we've endorsed, share volunteer opportunities, and give you a chance to hear from a member of our team about their important work this election season. I hope you’ll read each installment of We Decide 2020 and take action with the Advocacy Fund and our champions.
You’ve heard it before, but it’s worth repeating: This is the most important election of our lives. Everything is on the line, and we can’t be left wishing in November that we had done more. We must fight to protect our rights and health, and that includes electing candidates up and down the ballot who will fight alongside us.
In solidarity,

Candidate Spotlight: Rep. Tram Nguyen

Picture of Representative Tram Nguyen with the words "REPRESENTATIVE TRAM NGUYEN 18TH ESSEX DISTRICT" next to her

Meet Representative Tram Nguyen, the first Vietnamese American woman to serve in the Massachusetts State Legislature! Rep. Nguyen represents the 18th Essex District, which includes parts of Andover, Boxford, North Andover, and Tewksbury.

We proudly endorsed Rep. Nguyen when she first ran in 2018, defeating a dangerous, anti-abortion incumbent after running a campaign that championed the need for equitable abortion access. The Advocacy Fund threw our grassroots support behind her because we knew she was the representative the 18th Essex District deserves. Before running, she worked as a legal aid attorney representing domestic violence survivors, workers, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, and children. During her first term, Rep. Nguyen has championed equitable abortion access by co-sponsoring and fighting for the ROE Act, helped the Advocacy Fund fight against abortion stigma, and championed the voices of young people.

She’s seen the shortcomings of the public health system and understands the serious need for access to equitable health care, including abortion care. And this year, she’s facing a challenger who shares the same values as the far right opponent she defeated two years ago. It’s crucial that we keep ROE Act Champions like Rep. Nguyen fighting for our rights and health on Beacon Hill.

Take Action

We're going virtual this election season!

All of our events are hosted online to keep volunteers safe. All of our phone banks are led by a member of PPAF's organizing team and begin with a training to make sure you're comfortable before hitting the dialer! Volunteers of all levels are welcome.

Over-policing of Black bodies keeps reproductive freedom unattainable for Black people in this country. If Black people do not have the right to bodily autonomy to live their lives without fear of violence & murder, we will never achieve justice or reproductive freedom. That's why the Advocacy Fund is supporting our parnters at the ACLU of Massachusetts during their week of action against police violence next week.
