Tell Tom how you want to see him be an ally to the LGBTQI Community. TOM STEYER.

Hi DAVID,

Tom knows that being an ally starts with listening directly to communities and the people who live in them. So before he speaks at CNN’s first-ever LGBTQI town hall on Thursday, October 10 (tune in at 8:30 p.m. Pacific Time / 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time), he wants to know about the issues facing you or your LGBTQI loved ones. Tell Tom what you want to see discussed during the town hall, and we’ll share your responses with him before he takes the stage.

Right now, the LGBTQI community is facing a hateful administration that is fueling prejudice and violence within this country. Violence against black trans women has reached epidemic proportions — at least 18 women have been murdered this year alone. And this week, the Supreme Court will be making a decision in several landmark cases that could allow employers to discriminate against workers based on sexuality or gender.

We must ensure that all our voices are being heard. Now is the time to tell the stories that matter and ask the hard questions — take a moment to submit yours to Tom before the town hall.

Thanks,
Tom 2020

David, I need to talk to you about an urgent fight that has repercussions for millions of women and their families.

The Trump administration just started enforcing a "gag rule" that has cut off Planned Parenthood from millions of federal funds. The new rule forbids any clinic with Title X funding from referring patients to abortion providers. Since Planned Parenthood serves 40% of Title X patients, they are especially impacted.

Millions rely on Planned Parenthood for cancer screenings, birth control, and STI testing -- and now access to that critical care is at risk. So I'm joining with elected officials, candidates, and advocates across the country to demand that Congress immediately work to reverse Trump's gag rule and restore funding for Planned Parenthood.

We need to show that our movement isn't backing down. Can you add your name to help me get 10,000 signatures on this petition?
I'm sick and tired of men like Donald Trump enacting policies that dictate women's healthcare decisions. If you're sick and tired too, I need you with me on this.

Thank you,

Jennifer

FIVE YEARS AGO TODAY. MARK HERRING.

David --

Five years ago today the U.S. Supreme Court gave same-sex couples in Virginia the right to marry and made marriage equality the law of our Commonwealth.

I’ll never forget that day -- in fact, when I look back at my career, helping to bring marriage equality to Virginia is one of the things I’m most proud of.

Everyone should be able to enjoy the blessings of marriage -- and today as we reflect back on that wonderful day five years ago, I hope we can take stock of all of the hard work it took to get there.

So many courageous people and organizations made marriage equality possible -- it wasn’t easy, but in the end, love and equality prevailed.

It’s not often in politics that we get to celebrate a fundamental change that brings so much joy to so many. Today, five years later, it's incredible to see how much progress we’ve made since that day -- but there’s still more to be done.

As Democrats, we must continue to fight against discrimination in all of its forms and commit ourselves to ensuring every Virginian, and every American, is given equal protection under the law.

In closing, I’d like to remind my fellow Virginians that no matter who you choose to marry, where you came from, what you look like, or how you choose to express yourself, this Commonwealth welcomes you. You belong here.

Thanks for reading this note -- have a great rest of your Sunday.
-Mark
