What issues do you want to see Congress address? JENNIFER WEXTON.

David,

During this August recess, I’m looking forward to traveling the 10th District and meeting with as many people as possible. This is a time for representatives to hear directly from constituents about the issues impacting their lives, and what Congress can do to address them.

For all of you who I don’t get to meet, I still want to hear from you. So if you have a couple of minutes, please fill out our issues survey and tell me what your top priorities are.
Thank you,

Jennifer

Rep. Jennifer Wexton proudly serves the 10th District of Virginia. She's fighting to create a strong economy, ensure equality for all, and invest in a better future for America.

We need to talk about Mitch McConnell. NANCY PELOSI.

I need every grassroots activist to help amplify the public outrage over Mitch McConnell and Republicans refusing to keep our families safe.
David:

My Democratic House colleagues and I advanced measures to require background checks for every single gun sale and help prevent more mass
shootings like the ones that have devastated communities across our country.
That was MONTHS ago.

We’re STILL waiting on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to take up our gun-safety measures in the Senate and prevent more senseless violence. I’m calling on McConnell to call the Senate back into session to immediately take action.

Never let up,
Nancy

Ending hate-motivated violence. AMY KLOBUCHAR.

DAVID,

These past few weeks have served as a disturbing reminder that hate crimes and domestic terrorism are on the rise in our country. Mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio claimed the lives of 31 people just days after Gilroy, California found itself grieving members of their community who were taken too soon.

But unfortunately, these massacres are not our only reason to mourn. Today marks two years since a violent white supremacist rally shook Charlottesville, Virginia.

On this two-year anniversary of Charlottesville, I promise you this: As President, I will end the hateful rhetoric that has become all too routine during the Trump administration and make combating domestic terrorism and hate-motivated violence a priority.

Learn more about how I’ll take a stand against violence here >>>
  • I’ll prioritize combating domestic terrorism and empower law enforcement to investigate and prosecute perpetrators of hate-motivated violence, including against minorities, people of color, immigrants and the LGBTQ community.
  • I will direct the Department of Homeland Security to resume its work tracking right-wing extremism, including white nationalism.
  • And I will require federal law enforcement agencies to regularly assess the threat of domestic terrorism and increase training and resources for state and local law enforcement to address it.
I want to be clear: Neo-Nazis and white nationalists spouting racism and inciting violence are inimical to everything we stand for.

I promise to strengthen enforcement against those who commit acts of hate -- including white nationalist hate crimes -- and work with law enforcement and communities around the country to increase protections and not only combat these threats, but address the root causes of domestic terrorism.

Gun violence in America has cut short far too many lives, torn families apart and plagued communities across the country. I have led legislation in the Senate that would prevent convicted stalkers from purchasing firearms and close the “boyfriend loophole” -- right now federal law says if you’re convicted of abusing your wife you can’t get a gun, but if it’s your girlfriend you can. That’s just wrong. In my first 100 days, I will take executive action to close this loophole immediately and introduce gun violence legislation including putting universal background checks in place, and banning bump stocks, assault weapons and high capacity magazines.

Today we mourn those we’ve lost. Now we must work to make our country a safer place for everyone.

Launching a brand new part of our organizing program: BERNIE SANDERS.

Your personal story is powerful, David.

And sharing your story about why you support this campaign, how you got involved in the political revolution, and what type of transformational change you want to create can inspire others to do the same.

That's why we're launching our brand new organizing program: #MyBernieStory. Our goal is to take powerful stories like yours and have you inspire others to get involved.
The first step is to join a webinar to hear more about how you can share your personal story and be a part of this growing movement. Can you sign up for one?

This program is important to Bernie because each of us has a unique story to tell — and these stories can inspire millions of people around the country to come together and create an unprecedented grassroots movement.

More than 900 people have shared their stories so far, including Campaign Co-Chair Nina Turner. In her story, she talks about how the injustices of the health care system in this country caused her to lose her mother at a very young age.

Other supporters have talked about the need for a Green New Deal, canceling student debt, universal childcare, and so many other issues that drove them to support this campaign.
Personal stories are fundamental to who we are. And they are fundamental to how we are organizing this campaign.

But in order to do that, we need to organize and collect stories from supporters just like you, David.
Sign up for a webinar to start sharing your story:
In solidarity,
Team Bernie
