THE CLINTON FOUNDATION.

Dear David --

I know you share in a simple – but profound – idea that shapes everything the Clinton Foundation does – that everyone deserves a chance to succeed, everyone has a responsibility to act, and we all do better when we work together.

Bill, Chelsea, and the Foundation’s team work tirelessly to improve lives across the country and around the world.
The Foundation is helping people build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities. For example, they’re helping families support their young children’s early brain development, working with educators to help children learn healthy eating and exercise habits, as well as working to improve the health and well-being of people in communities across the country.

Together, with...help, the Foundation is changing lives.

Sincerely,

Hillary

We can't let this happen (DeVos). GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE MOLLY KELLY.

Dear David,
Did you hear what Chris Sununu promised last week? After Republicans and Democrats once again rejected his school voucher bill – the bill that takes state funding out of our public schools and instead pays for vouchers at religious or private schools – he promised to try again and again if he's reelected.
It's not surprising, though, that he'd continue to pursue this terrible idea. Today, President Trump's education secretary and the top cheerleader for school vouchers – Betsy DeVos – is in New Hampshire to raise money with Sununu to get him reelected.
For the sake of our students, we can't let this happen.
As I’ve traveled across New Hampshire, I’ve heard overwhelming opposition to school vouchers and the damage they would do to our public schools. Mayors, for example, have told me how much this bill would devastate their cities and force them to raise property taxes. When I served in the state Senate, I voted against a similar plan that would have hurt public schools, and as governor, I would veto any plan that takes money from our public schools to use for private or religious schools.
Education is personal for me. As a single mom raising three children, I worked my way through Keene State College because I wanted a better future for my children, and that started with education. And for most of our children, opportunity starts with public schools.
While Sununu raises money with Betsy DeVos and pursues an extreme agenda that would hurt our children, I'm standing up for our students and teachers. Help me win this race so we can strengthen our public schools and support hardworking families who depend on public education for a good future with many opportunities for their children.

Honoring Mothers on this day, and every day. CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE STEVE SEVIGNY.

Dear David,
Each year, we celebrate our Mothers for all the love they gave us, all the things they taught us, and all the encouragement they gave us to help us to become the people we are.

I'm thankful for all that my mother did for me, all that my mother-in-law does for my family, and for the great mother my wife is to our children. I hope that they all know how much I appreciate them each and every day.

To honor the mothers in our lives, I hope you will all join me in working to ensure they (and all women) have access to all the care they need to continue to enjoy every bit of life.

As a radiologist, the importance of regular mammography is something I'm acutely aware of. Skipping that screening could be the difference between a woman having a last Mother's Day with her family and having dozens more Mother's Day experiences. We need to do better for our mothers by making sure the full range of ongoing care such as mammography is available to them without hardship.

We should experience the maximum number of Mother's Days with our moms and our children.

My staff tells me that these emails need to have an ask, so here's the ask - if you aren't able to spend the day with your mother, call her. Ask her if she's seeing her doctor regularly and getting the proper preventative care. Tell her you want to make sure you can spend next Mother's Day with her, and the one after that.

Here's to many more Mother's Days shared with the ones you love,

Steve

Happy Mother's Day. CONGRESSMAN DAVID CICILLINE.

Dear David,

My mom, Sabra, is my hero. Throughout my life, she has been a source of strength in good times and bad. She taught me right from wrong. She instilled in me the importance of service. And most of all, she’s always made sure that my four siblings and I knew that we were loved unconditionally.

The same is true in households large and small all across our state. There are so many wonderful, amazing moms who make up the foundation of our homes and our communities. This goes double for the brave Rhode Island moms who are serving our country in uniform today.

I wish you and your family a Happy Mother’s Day,

David Cicilline
Member of Congress
