When I look back on that campaign, what I remember most are the millions of people who helped make that night possible. Volunteers and staff, organizers and precinct captains, and those who came before us—people who gave all of themselves because they wanted to move this country in a different direction. It’s an example of an idea that’s always guided my career and defines our work at the Obama Foundation: that ordinary people can do extraordinary things.
That’s why, today, I’d like to share a few of their stories with you.
