Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell responded to a question on Wednesday about historically excluded groups' concerns on voting rights by saying, 'African American voters are voting in just as high a percentage as Americans'
The comment came after Senate Republicans voted down the wide-ranging legislation that would reshape American elections, the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act, on Wednesday night.
