PROTECTING DREAMers. CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATES JASON RITTEREISER AND PAT RYAN.

David --

While deployed in Iraq, I served alongside DREAMers who came to the United States as children. As a business owner, I’ve seen firsthand how they strengthen our economy.

But today, they live in fear of having their lives upended and the only home they’ve ever known torn away from them -- all because Congress has failed to do their job and find a solution after Trump cruelly terminated DACA.

Now, a bipartisan solution is on the table -- Congress must act.

These young people are our neighbors, our employees, our students, our future Across much of this district, they power our farms and small businesses. Many volunteered to put their lives on the line for this country in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The idea of repaying these patriots by forcing them back into the shadows is outrageous.

Time is running out for Congress to make this right -- but if enough Americans stand up and speak out, they’ll have no choice but to act. Will you join me, David?

-- Pat

David --

What were you dreaming about when you were 17? I was playing baseball and saving up for college. I was able to pursue my dreams at the University of Washington and go on to law school, where I knew I wanted to dedicate my career to standing up for people.

Today, there are 800,000 DREAMers who are at risk of losing their future because Donald Trump abruptly ended The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Their lives have been thrown into constant fear of being deported to countries they have never known.

The clock is running out to come up with a legislative solution. Starting in March, 1,400 young people will lose their DACA protections per day

There is a bipartisan solution on the table in the Senate, but it’s dead in the water due to House Republicans and Trump’s inability to make up his mind. His flip-flopping on the bill even led us into a costly government shutdown.

DACA recipients are our neighbors, students, and friends -- they are American in every way. This program gives them a chance to pursue their American Dreams, just like I did.

My dream was to become someone who fights for people who need a voice. Every child in America has a fundamental right to an education so they can pursue their dream and succeed.
