In just a few days since ProPublica released their exposé on Senators Richard Burr and Kelly Loeffler’s alleged insider trading, our movement has gathered nearly 75,000 signatures to demand their resignations.

We’re not going to let them get away with it. That’s why we’re doubling down and pushing for a goal of 100,000 signatures by 11:59 PM TONIGHT.

Imagine this: Richard Burr in a room of wealthy donors, just days after receiving non-public information about COVID-19, warning them about how bad this crisis was going to get.

Just think about what working families could’ve done with that information. Think about how blindsided you were with how quickly our lives changed, and now know that a group of people who paid $10,000 each to attend a lunch got advance notice from a sitting Senator — someone who’s supposed to be a public servant.

Those were their priorities: Selling stock to benefit themselves, and then making sure their wealthy donors got out okay. Not us. Not the people.

If that makes you outraged, then take action today. Sign our petition, and then share it with three friends or family members as soon as you can.

It’s time to send a clear message: Just because you’re rich and powerful doesn’t mean you can sell out the working people of this nation and get away with it.

At this very moment, Congress is finalizing plans to help those hurt financially by the growing COVID-19 crisis, including nonprofits like PETA. We—and every other animal protection group you may support—need you to voice your support for these plans RIGHT NOW!

The impact of the pandemic is already being felt across PETA, making our vital advocacy and campaign work more challenging than ever. We're doing all that we can to help as many animals as possible during the current situation, but the widespread belt-tightening is certain to hit our budget hard during the weeks and months ahead.

Among the emergency measures EXPECTED TO BE VOTED ON SHORTLY is the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

If passed, this act would offer grants to nonprofits providing a variety of important services, unlock more giving with a short-term charitable tax deduction, and ensure that nonprofit organizations of all stripes have access to loans now made available to for-profit businesses.
