MY EVALUATION. PART 1: FINAL REPORT Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol.
SELECTED PASSAGES FROM CHAIRMAN BENNIE G. THOMPSONS FOREWORD:
This report will provide greater detail about the multistep effort devised and driven by Donald Trump to overturn the 2020 election and block the transfer of power...we will present new findings about Trump’s pressure campaign on officials from the local level all the way up to his Vice President, orchestrated and designed solely to throw out the will of the voters and keep him in office past the end of his elected term.
...When his scheme to stay in power through political pressure hit roadblocks, he relentlessly pushed ahead with a parallel plan: summoning a mob to gather in Washington, DC on January 6th, promising things “will be wild!” That mob showed up. They were armed. They were angry. They believed the “Big Lie” that the election had been stolen. And when Donald Trump pointed them toward the Capitol and told them to “fight like hell,” that’s exactly what they did. Donald Trump lit that fire. But in the weeks beforehand, the kindling he ultimately ignited was amassed in plain sight.
That’s why as part of the Select Committee’s investigation, we took a hard look at whether enough was done to mitigate that risk. Our investigative teams focused on the way intelligence was gathered, shared, and assessed. We probed preparations by law enforcement agencies and security responses on the day of the attack. We followed the money, to determine who paid for a number of events in the run-up to the attack and to gain a clearer understanding of the way the former President’s campaign apparatus cashed in on the big lie...
The Select Committee’s conclusion on these matters—particularly dealing with intelligence and law enforcement—is consistent with our broader findings about the causes of January 6th. Were agencies perfect in their preparations for January 6th and their responses as the violence unfolded? Of course not. Relevant oversight committees and watchdogs should continue to find efficiencies and improvements, some of which are laid out in the Committees recommendations.
But the shortfall of communications, intelligence, and law enforcement around January 6th was much less about what they did or did not know. It was more about what they could not know. The President of the United States inciting a mob to march on the Capitol...Prior to January 6th, it was unimaginable. Whatever weaknesses existed in the policies, procedures, or institutions, they were not to blame for what happened on that day.

PRESSURE, CULMINATING IN THE ATTEMPTED MOB TAKEOVER OF THE CAPITOL,
WAS DESIGNED AND ORCHESTRATED BY DONALD TRUMP.
THERE WAS NO SECRET SOCIETY OF CONSPIRATORS WHO BEGGED HIM TO "FIGHT TO

SUPRISED ME. REMEMBER THIS:
The following exchange occurred during a White House Press conference on Wednesday, Sept 24, 2020.
'...Pressed again to “commit to making sure that there’s a peaceful transferal of power,” Trump responded, “Get rid of the ballots and...we’ll have a very peaceful—there won’t be a transfer, frankly. There will be a continuation."
He is making an accusation of FRAUD, BEFORE THE ELECTION, ON A PROCESS HE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE ON WHICH TO CONDEMN. He is obviously setting up an excuse to explain his eventual defeat, in case that scenario came true. He did the exact same thing in 2016, to explain a potential loss to Hillary Clinton. (Unluckily for us, the fix was in, and he stole the election.)

MY ANSWER:
What is your view on the rise of populism and secularism?
Populism is a term used for Candidates, or a Political Agenda that claim to be the “Voice of the Little Guy,” who feels like they have been ignored by the powers that be. The Common Man touch, the silent majority.
However, It is generally just an excuse to appeal to those whose Political Power has been diminished through Social and Economic changes that no longer gives them the advantages they use to have…
or
…a way of convincing those who are living through Dramatic Political, Economic, or Social Upheaval that the only solution is to destroy the current system of government, and place them in complete charge. (It doesn’t matter that the present Government may not be entirely at fault, or that the Populist may just be trying to sabotage a system that can work if properly administered. Most Importantly, you do not have to question or understand the motives of the Populist. They are your Savior.)
Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao Zedong etc., and Donald Trump, among others, have used this type of Political Strategy because of its Simplistic and Non-Threatening way of recruiting those who are not willing to understand that they may be part of the problem, if not most of it. It also requires no Intellectual Insight or Discipline to follow this form of Political Movement. Others are at fault, just nod your head and agree. You are told who to;
- Hate
- Blame
- Ignore or Disregard
- Discriminate Against
and most importantly, Lawfully Obey.
In simple terms, “Secularism” usually refers to Government, Public, or Social Agencies, Institutions, Departments etc., that were created for the Benefit and Proper Administration of programs that were Lawfully Created and Budgeted for, NOT BEING ALLOWED TO USE PRIVATE OR PERSONAL RELIGIOUS BELIEFS TO BE PART OF THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS ON WHETHER OR NOT SOMEONE IS ELIGIBLE FOR INCLUSION IN, OR ABLE TO RECEIVE BENEFITS FROM THESE TAX PAYER FUNDED ENTITIES.
Further, that CIVIL AND CRIMINAL LAW MUST BE SEPARATE FROM, AND NOT ALLOWED TO BE SUBJECT TO ANY FORM OF ECCLESIASTICAL AUTHORITY. Moral or Ethical Guidelines, as set forth in the U.S. CONSTITUTION, AND JUDICIAL PRECEDENT, were created to be set apart from those that were found in FAITH BASED DOCTRINE.
IN OTHER WORDS, Government has no BUSINESS IN INSTITUTING OR ESTABLISHING RELIGIOUS FAITH AS PART OF THE U.S. LEGAL SYSTEM. IN THE END, THAT IS WHAT “SECULAR” REALLY STANDS FOR.
