Trump tried to fire Mueller. U.S. SENATOR CORY BOOKER.

David,

The New York Times is reporting that for a second time this past December President Trump has tried to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded to this report by saying that President Trump “certainly believes he has the power” to fire the Special Counsel.

The American people deserve answers and a full accounting of Russian meddling in our elections.

We can’t let President Trump fire Special Counsel Mueller...Congress must act to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller from being fired and allow him to complete his investigation.

Republicans and Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee are working in a bipartisan way to pass the Special Counsel Independence and Integrity Act out of Committee to protect Robert Mueller from being fired by President Trump and to preserve documents related to the investigation.

But Republican leadership in the Senate still isn’t on board.

With President Trump’s threats to fire the special counsel growing more serious every day, we can’t afford to wait any longer.

...stand with Cory and believe Congress must take action to protect Special Counsel Mueller and his investigation into Russian meddling in our elections.

John Bolton is too dangerous to serve. CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE JASON RITTEREISER.

"It is perfectly legitimate for the United States to respond to the current 'necessity' posed by North Korea's nuclear weapons by striking first."
-- John Bolton, President Trump’s newest National Security pick

David --

On Monday, John Bolton's appointment as National Security Advisor became official.

Bolton has publicly advocated launching first strikes on North Korea and Iran. With Trump’s obvious desire to do anything to distract from the Mueller investigation, this is not the voice we need counseling him on national security. He’s a danger to American safety, and he must go.

Bolton has been a war hawk throughout the entirety of his career in international diplomacy and security. In his time in the Bush Administration, he distorted intelligence about WMDs and defended the invasion of Iraq -- and to this day, he claims that it was a “grave mistake” for our troops to withdraw.

Now, with the crisis in Syria worsening, will Bolton lead us into a yet another disastrous war?

Thanks for your support.

Women deserve equal pay. Period. CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE JENNIFER WEXTON.

Today’s the day, David -- Equal Pay Day.

...a day that symbolizes how far into the new year women must work to earn the equivalent of what their male counterparts earned in the previous year. The fact that we’re still having this conversation and women are still having to ask for equal pay for equal work is absurd. We deserve better.

In the General Assembly, Jennifer passed an equal pay bill in committee, only to have it be killed by Republicans once they realized that it added teeth to Virginia’s equal pay law. The bill would have added hourly workers to Virginia’s equal pay statute and required employers to pay attorney’s fees and costs in addition to money damages if they were found to have discriminated based on gender.

If we want to see change, we have to elect people to Congress who are committed to progress. We can count on Jennifer to fight for us.

Thank you,
Team Wexton

AN EMBARRASSMENT. U.S. SENATOR JEANNE SHAHEEN.

There’s no other way to put this, David: EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt is an embarrassment.
Pruitt has spent his year in office trying to charter private planes and milk his position for every perk it’s worth. He’s flown from state to state, coast to coast to hold hush-toned meetings with Big Oil – all funded with taxpayers’ dollars.
From day one, Pruitt has been a puppet for big polluters: He’s rolled back Obama-era regulations that were put in place to protect the planet and Americans’ health from pollution and toxic pesticides and undermined the mission of his own agency every day.
He’s destroying our environment – so this corrupt climate change denier needs to go immediately. Please...stand with me in calling on Scott Pruitt to resign.
We’ve had enough of his destructive agenda – so thank you for speaking out when it matters most.
Jeanne
