Dear DAVID,   There are only a few hours left in 2020, but you still have time to make a tax-deductible donation to the American Philosophical Association before ringing in the New Year.   If you are in a financial position to do so, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the new APA Meeting Assistance Fund. The fund was established to provide subvention grants to reduce the cost of APA meeting participation for those facing financial hardship, especially graduate students and contingent faculty.   We have reduced the registration rates by approximately 20 percent this year, but those who have lost income due to the coronavirus pandemic may still be unable to attend without additional assistance. McConnell blocks Senate vote on $2,000 COVID-19 payments following House approval.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell objected on Tuesday to a proposal by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders to vote on a House bill increasing COVID-19 relief payments to $2,000. The House voted 275-134 on Monday to increase stimulus payments set to go out to American households in the coming weeks to $2,000, up from the $600 checks that Congress had previously approved.

(YOU DO HAVE A HOUSE MAJORITY). UNFAIR? WHY DON'T YOU RECALL ALL THE TIMES THAT THIS SON OF KENTUCKY HAS ALTERED OR CHANGED SENATE PROCEDURES TO BENEFIT HIS FASCIST AGENDA?

IF KENTUCKIANS ARE WILLING TO RE-ELECT HIM TIME AND TIME AGAIN, (WHICH IS THEIR RIGHT), AND SENATE DEMOCRATS CONTINUE THEIR TRADITION OF DOING NOTHING TO REDRESS THE HARM HIS ACTIONS HAVE ON ALL OR PART OF THE REMAINING 50 STATES, THEN MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE MUST PROVIDE A DETERRENT FOR THIS ABUSE OF POWER, AND STOP THIS TRUMP/PUTIN DISCIPLE FROM TURNING THE U.S. INTO AN ORWELLIAN PARADISE.

AT LEAST THESE ACTIONS WILL SHOW VOTERS IN YOUR STATE THAT THERE ARE THOSE WHO WILL STAND UP TO THE FASCIST AGENDA OF THE "NEW" REPUBLICAN PARTY.

ALSO, IT WILL PROVIDE ADDITIONAL EVIDENCE TO THE PEOPLE OF THE U.S. THAT ARIZONAS NEWLY ELECTED SENATOR MARK KELLY, AND GEORGIAS U.S. SENATE RUN-OFF ELECTIONS, FEATURING DEMOCRATS RAPHAEL WARNOCK AND JON OSSOFF, INDICATE THAT TODAYS REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES ARE NO LONGER "SURE THINGS," IN TRADITIONAL "RED STATES."*

IF THIS IS TRUE, THEN IT MAY BE TIME FOR YOU TO REPLACE A DEMOCRATIC SENATOR WHO DOES LITTLE MORE THAN OCCUPY SPACE, AND HAS FAILED TO STAND UP TO THE TRUMPS AND MCCONNELLS WHOSE CORRUPTION HAS ONLY BENEFITTED THE ENEMIES OF THE U.S.

WHY CAN'T THAT CANDIDATE COME FROM DEMOCRATS IN THE U.S. HOUSE?

Donald Trump granted clemency to longtime ally Roger Stone, former campaign manager Paul Manafort, and Charles Kushner, the father of his son-in-law Jared Kushner, among other loyalists in a new batch of pardons and commutations.
