Attorney General William Barr is supposed to be the people’s attorney, not the President’s attorney -- but he didn’t act like that today.
The Attorney General has made it clear time and time again that he is not impartial when it comes to Director Robert Mueller’s investigation -- whether it be his four-page summary interpreting the report before it was released to the public or the press conference he held this morning or the answers he gave to my questions at the Judiciary Committee hearing.
Americans deserve to hear from Director Robert Mueller himself. Our democracy demands it.
That’s why I am calling for Director Mueller to testify before the Judiciary Committee. Director Mueller conducted the investigation and he -- not Attorney General Barr -- should be the one to answer the questions of the American people.
