In General, for each state has its own specific definition, “FLEEING AND ELUDING,” can be described as:

An operator of a Motor Vehicle, who having been signaled by an Identifiable member of Law Enforcement, (Uniform and/or Properly Marked Vehicle), to pull over and stop, refuses to obey and makes an effort to avoid this lawful order by continuing to operate the vehicle in a manner that prevents Officers from detaining them.

Law Enforcement may seek to lawfully detain you, as you operate the vehicle, by:

• Flashing Emergency Lights.
• Operating Siren.
• Hand Signals.
• Hand Held Signs.
• Verbal Commands.
• Vehicle Horn.

Whether you think you have done nothing wrong, (And you may not have), this is a LAWFUL ORDER that must be obeyed. It may lead to nothing more than an apology for holding you up, but it is a power that Law Enforcement must have to properly do its job. Therefore; IT IS A CRIMINAL ACT, AND YOU MAY BE CHARGED WITH “FLEEING AND ELUDING.”
