Reminder: PETA’s town hall meeting on our work for companion animals. Save the Date! Tuesday, February 23, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT

Save the Date!
Tuesday, February 23,
at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT

Join us for a first-ever town hall meeting about PETA’s life-changing work for companion animals.

Dear David,

To lonely dogs, ailing cats, and countless other neglected companion animals, PETA’s fieldworkers and cruelty caseworkers are nothing short of miracle workers.

Our fieldworkers and Emergency Response Team are on call 24/7/365—often coming to an animal’s aid when no one else will. We’re delivering sturdy custom-built doghouses that offer “backyard dogs” some relief during dangerous weather, providing free and low-cost spay and neuter surgeries to help tackle the companion-animal homelessness crisis at its roots, and responding at all hours of the day and night to ensure that sick, injured, and neglected animals get the help they urgently need.

Our Mobile Clinics Division is a model high-volume spay/neuter program that sterilizes more than 12,000 animals annually, and it also provides free emergency surgeries and treatments that keep injured or ailing animals with their loving families when they’ve have fallen on hard times.

February 23 is World Spay Day—and we’re celebrating the occasion with our first-ever town hall meeting on PETA’s vital work for companion animals. I hope you’ll be there!

This inspiring town hall—featuring PETA President Ingrid Newkirk, Senior Vice President of Cruelty Investigations Daphna Nachminovitch, and Mobile Clinics Division Director Lori-Jo Ciccone—will give you an inside look at PETA’s shelter, fieldwork, and companion-animal assistance programs, as well as sharing poignant stories of individual animals we’ve helped, like a senior dog named Edith, who was rescued and adopted after spending years chained outside.

Edith’s story also appears in Breaking the Chain, a powerful documentary produced by Anjelica Huston that offers a glimpse into PETA’s fieldwork. We’ll be giving away a limited number of free Breaking the Chain viewings, so please don’t miss out on your chance to win.

There are two ways you can participate in this meeting. If you’d like to attend via computer (which I encourage so that you won’t miss out on seeing the photos and videos that we’ll be sharing), simply log on to PETA.org/FebruaryTownHall at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on February 23 and you’ll be able to watch the presentation through your web browser. We’ll send a reminder e-mail to you at this address a few minutes before the meeting begins. If you’d like to participate by phone only, simply click here to provide your contact information. PETA will then call you shortly before the meeting begins. You can also attend by calling toll-free at 1-844-881-1316.

I hope you’ll join us on February 23 for an inspiring look at the ways PETA’s fieldworkers and Emergency Response Team are breaking the cycle of companion-animal homelessness, neglect, and misery.

Kind regards,

Lisa Lange
Senior Vice President of Communications
PETA

Diversity and Inclusion Task Force Listening Session Opportunity. Valdosta State University.

Thank You from Valdosta State University
V-State  Valdosta State University
ALUMNI & FRIENDS

VSU Colleagues-

Happy New Year! I hope all is well. My name is Sirocus Barnes and I am the president of the VSU Alumni Association. I am writing to invite you to a  special event to provide feedback to VSU.

President Carvajal issued a call for a comprehensive university planning effort at the Celebration of Inclusion on September 18, 2020. The Diversity and Inclusion Comprehensive Planning Task Force is charged with “gathering broad input through listening sessions and other means, and then using that input to identify and prioritize VSU’s areas of greatest challenge and create a clear plan for improvement.”

I am leading the alumni and community sub-group. We will be hosting a listening session for alumni on Tuesday, February 16 at 6:30pm.

I’d encourage everyone to attend if you are available. In order for us to gather broad input, we need as many people from our alumni community to attend these sessions.  See below the link to the Zoom meeting.

Thank you and I look forward to connecting with you soon! Go Blazers!

OUR MOVEMENT IS GROWING... BOOT TEXAS REPUBLICANS.

 David,

Please take a minute to read this.

February is a tough month for political campaigns and organizations. So many of us worked overtime to beat Donald Trump in November and then flip the Senate in January.

But the truth is, Republicans are already working around the clock to make sure they win big in 2022. We can’t afford to take our eye off the ball or throw in the towel right now. We’ve got to dig deep and keep pushing until Greg Abbott, Ted Cruz, and other Republicans who’ve openly attacked our democracy are held accountable.

In just a few short months, Boot Texas Republicans has received tens of thousands of petition signatures to hold Greg Abbott and Ted Cruz accountable for their attacks on Texas and our democracy.

We’ve also received thousands of contributions from fired-up Texans who are ready to beat Abbott and Cruz at the ballot box.

Our movement is growing, David.

Just a few days ago, a report showed Abbott’s polling in the gutter. His attacks on voting rights, full-throated support of Donald Trump, and botched handling of COVID-19 is catching up with him.

And a growing national call to rescind contributions to Ted Cruz could end Cruz’s political career before he’s up for re-election.

Let’s keep pushing!

Boot Texas Republicans

REMEMBERING TRUMP. PAST POSTS THAT REMIND US OF THE "REAL DONALD TRUMP.": PENNSYLVANIA: REMEMBER THIS ARTICLE ON THE 2016 ELECTION? DON'T LET TRUMP AND HIS GANG OF REPUBLICAN TRAITORS, AIDED BY MOSCOW, HURT YOUR STATE ANY FURTHER.

LUCKILY FOR ALL CITIZENS OF THE U.S., WISCONSIN, MICHIGAN, AND PENNSYLVANIA WOULD NOT BE VICTIMIZED BY FASCIST RUSS-PUBLICANS IN ANOTHER PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. TO BAD FLORIDA AND OHIO DON'T SEEM TO CARE.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

THE SPECIAL ELECTION ON MARCH,13,2018 IN PENNSYLVANIA HAD THE DEMOCRATS FEELING CONFIDENT...

REALLY? HOW ABOUT THE 2016 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.
IS THE STATE PARTY LEADERSHIP ACTUALLY
GOING TO PAY ATTENTION: THIS TIME!!!!

HERE ARE THE RESULTS FROM 2012 AND 2016
ELECTION RESULTS FOR PRESIDENT.

PENNSYLVANIA- 2012 ELECTION. TOTAL # OF DEMOCRAT\REPUBLICAN VOTES: 5,670,708.

TOTAL DEMOCRATIC VOTES- 2,990,274.

TOTAL REPUBLICAN VOTES- 2,680,434.

MARGIN OF DEMOCRATIC VICTORY- 309,840 VOTES.

PENNSYLVANIA- 2016 ELECTION.  TOTAL # OF DEMOCRATIC/REPUBLICAN VOTES: 5,897,174.  UP +226,466 VOTES FROM 2012 ELECTION.

TOTAL DEMOCRATIC VOTES- 2,926,441 VOTES, LOSS OF 63,833 VOTES FROM 2012 ELECTION.

TOTAL REPUBLICAN VOTES-  2,970,733 VOTES, GAIN OF +290,299 VOTES.

HERE IS A BREAKDOWN:

The TOTAL # OF  DEMOCRAT/REPUBLICAN VOTES INCREASED +226,466 votes from
2012-2016.

THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY LOST 63,833 VOTES BETWEEN 2012 AND 2016, OR ABOUT -2.1%. In itself, that's
not a drastic decline. It would be considered a result that is well within normal expectations.

HOWEVER, THE REPUBLICAN PARTY NUMBERS ARE ANOTHER MATTER. AN INCREASE OF +290,299 VOTES REPRESENTS ABOUT AN + 10.8% INCREASE.

This number, (+290,299), is more than 4 times the number
of votes that the Democrats lost.

TO ACHIEVE THE TOTAL OF 2,970,733 VOTES IN 2016, THE REPUBLICAN PARTY NEEDED A SCENARIO LIKE THE FOLLOWING TO HAPPEN:

EVERY SINGLE VOTER WHO CAST A BALLOT FOR THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE IN 2012, HAD TO DO SO AGAIN IN 2016: 2,680,434 VOTES.

EVERY NEW VOTER WHO CAST A BALLOT FOR EITHER THE DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE, HAD TO CHOOSE REPUBLICAN: +226,466 VOTES.

THAT TOTAL= 2,906,900 IS STILL SHORT OF THE "OFFICIAL" TOTAL OF 2,970,733 VOTES.

HOW COULD THIS BE? THE REPUBLICANS WERE STILL 63,833 VOTES SHORT OF THE FINAL NUMBER. WELL, GO BACK A FEW PARAGRAPHS AND CHECK OUT THE NUMBER OF VOTES THE DEMOCRATS LOST FROM 2012-2016= -63,833.

TO ACHIEVE A TOTAL OF 2,970,733 VOTES IN 2016, HERE IS RUNDOWN OF WHAT THE REPUBLICANS NEEDED TO HAPPEN:

EVERY REPUBLICAN VOTER FROM 2012, RETURNS AND VOTES REPUBLICAN AGAIN IN 2016: 2,680,434.

EVERY NEW VOTER WHO SELECTS EITHER DEM.\REP. IN 2016, CHOOSES REP.: 226,466.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE 63,833 VOTERS THE DEM. PARTY LOST BETWEEN 2012- 2016, RETURNS TO THE POLLS AND VOTES REPUBLICAN.

2,680,434 + 226,466 + 63,833 = 2,970,733.

THIS IS LUDICROUS. NO REASONABLE INDIVIDUAL WHO LOOKS AT THESE NUMBERS COULD TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY.

THIS ELECTION WAS A SHAM.

DON'T TAKE MY WORD, GO OVER THE RESULTS
CAREFULLY.

DEMOCRATS IN PENNSYLVANIA: DON'T BE SCAMMED AGAIN!!!

...AND THEY WEREN'T!!!
