DONALD TRUMP IS A DISASTER, BUT IT DIDN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY.

Occupy Democrats
BREAKING: President Reagan’s daughter just declared war on Trump.
“The Republican Party now -- particularly the Republicans in this government -- are just sitting by the sidelines and letting the Trump administration destroy this country. I mean they don't say anything, they don't stand up to him.”
TO BE FAIR, IF THE DEMOCRATS HAD STOOD UP TO THE REPUBLICANS IN THE RECENT PAST,
THINGS MIGHT HAVE TURNED OUT DIFFERENTLY.

FOR EXAMPLE:
- PRESIDENT OBAMAS SUPREME COURT CHOICE NOT GIVEN A CONSTITUTIONALLY MANDATED HEARING BEFORE THE SENATE.
- DONALD TRUMPS CONFLICT OF INTEREST VIOLATIONS.
- ALLOWING BOGUS VOTE RETURNS IN THE 2016 ELECTION TO GO UNCHALLENGED, HANDING THE WHITE HOUSE TO DONALD TRUMP.
ETC.

YOU KNOW, THE ISSUES THAT NONE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFULS ARE MENTIONING.

YES, DONALD TRUMP IS A DISGRACE, BUT I EXPECT VERY LITTLE INTEGRITY FROM A PARTY

THAT FEATURES MITCH MCCONNELL AND MIKE PENCE AS LEADERS AND POLICY MAKERS.

HOWEVER, WHEN IT CAME TIME TO MAKE A STAND, WHEN IT COUNTED MOST, THE DEMOCRATS

FAILED MISERABLY. (THE NEWS MEDIA CONTINUES TO IGNORE ALL THE SAME ISSUES.)

TALK IS CHEAP.

Survivors handed in our signatures! Joanna Ewart-James Executive Director, Freedom United.

Dear David,

Our community's voice was part of the 64,241 collective actions calling on the UK Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, and the UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, to #ProtectNotNeglect victims of modern slavery. Last week, we called on the Freedom United community to help buy tickets for survivors like Edith.* They travelled from around the UK to London to represent themselves – and generous donors made it happen!

On Thursday, we marched alongside 11 survivors and campaign partners, through the wind and rain from the Home Office across Westminster and even navigated cabinet meetings to get our community's signatures to the Prime Minister’s office at No.10 Downing Street. Thanks to our supporters, survivor advocate Edith was able to personally hand in our signatures to the PM’s office, demanding better support for survivors like her who deserve a chance to recover and move on with their lives.

Edith said:
It’s so important to me to be here today handing in so many messages to the Home Office and No.10. I want the government to understand that we’re not just numbers and statistics, we’re simply asking for the opportunity to recover from the traumatic experience of being trafficked.”
The passage of the Modern Slavery (Victim Support) Bill, which would improve the standard of care for victims in the UK, has been continuously delayed in the House of Commons but our action on Thursday means that the government knows we haven’t forgotten, and we won’t stop bringing attention to this Bill until victims are provided with the support they deserve.

We are so grateful to you and the entire Freedom United community, our partners in this campaign and all survivors who made the journey to represent themselves.
Help us keep up the pressure by adding your name to the campaign!

In solidarity,

Joanna and the Freedom United team
