NPR NEWS- White House Takes Aim At Financial Protections For Military.

Documents obtained by NPR show proposed changes that critics say would leave service members vulnerable to getting ripped off when they buy cars. Also, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is planning to halt regular scrutiny of payday lenders over their interactions with people serving in the military.

FEATURE ARTICLES. WHAT PROGRESSIVES MUST LEARN: STAND TOGETHER, OR FALL APART.

People, Woman, Rally, Protest, Unite

There is one thing, probably more than anything else, that has held Back Progressives from Achieving Electoral Success on a Regular Basis. Care to Guess?  It is an Internal, Self- Inflicted Mindset that Conservatives, especially Tea Party Candidates, have used on a regular basis.

IT IS THE FAILURE OF PROGRESSIVES AND LIBERALS TO STAND TOGETHER.  TO OFTEN, GROUPS THAT PROCLAIM THEMSELVES AS PROGRESSIVE, EXIST AS ONE OR TWO ISSUE GROUPS.  THE REASONING THAT LED TO CREATING AND ORGANIZING OTHER LIKE- MINDED INDIVIDUALS TO PASS LEGISLATION AND ELECT SYMPATHETIC CANDIDATES, IS NOT CARRIED OVER INTO OTHER AREAS.

It is Astonishing to Listen to a "PROGRESSIVE VOTER", Who sees an Injustice and Wants to Affect a Change in the Law to Remedy this Iniquity, Refusing to use the Same Thought Process if it Deals with an Issue That Doesn't Appeal to Them Directly.

Unfortunately, this Lack of a Consistent Line of Moral Guidelines that are NOT UNIVERSAL IN NATURE, SETS PROGRESSIVES AGAINST ONE ANOTHER, AND BREEDS RESENTMENT THAT LEADS TO ELECTORAL FAILURE.

I have heard the Argument that concludes with the-  "...their not all the same. Social , Economic, and Other Domestic Agenda Issues Deal with Different Problems, and Need Different Solutions."

That may be, but it Doesn't Explain or Solve the UNDERLYING PROBLEM THEY ALL HAVE IN COMMON; INEQUALITY UNDER THE LAW, WHETHER IT IS...

-  UNFAIR LABOR OR WAGE PRACTICES.

-  ELIGIBILITY AND AVAILABILITY FOR
GOVERNMENT FUNDS TO ADDRESS HARDSHIP,
IN ALL ITS FORMS.

-   FAIR TREATMENT GIVEN TO ALL COMPETENT
ADULTS REGARDING MARRIAGE LAW.

-  ENSURING EQUAL TREATMENT IN A COURT OF
LAW, WHERE THE SIZE OF YOUR WALLET DOESN'T
= THE AMOUNT OF JUSTICE YOU'LL RECEIVE.

...MEANS THAT ONE PERSON IS GIVEN AN ADVANTAGE, HELPING HAND,
OR JUST AN OPEN DOOR, THAT SOMEONE ELSE IS NOT.

WHO IS THE WINNER WHEN THIS HAPPENS?

PETITION: Remove NRA meddling in campaigns. CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE JENNIFER WEXTON.

David,
We cannot continue to allow the NRA to control our representatives and legislation. I know this. You know this. So many responsible, gun-owning Americans know this. Unfortunately, it’s on us to tell Congress.

Please join me in sending Barbara Comstock a clear message: Get the NRA out of the business of buying elections.

Collectively, we have the power to end this NRA puppeteering of Washington. We’ve seen Barbara change her position on issues when we build up enough support.

I am asking for your signature today because, with our help, we can let Barbara know where we stand on getting NRA money out of this congressional race. Let’s get Barbara to return her gun lobby donations and let’s make sure she runs an honest campaign.

Your signatures and support might feel small, but each one is a step forward.

Thanks for all you do,
Jennifer

Racists, neo-Nazis, neo-Confederates, white supremacists, and white nationalists have no home in our Commonwealth...VIRGINIA ATTORNEY GENERAL MARK HERRING.

Dear David,
This weekend we will mark one year since the tragic day in Charlottesville that changed our Commonwealth and claimed the lives of three Virginians – Heather Heyer, Virginia State Police Trooper-Pilot Berke M.M. Bates, and Virginia State Police Lieutenant H. Jay Cullen, III.
Even as we were still reeling and trying to come to grips with what we had seen, the pain was made so much worse when President Trump failed to take a stand against the neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and alt-right members who caused the violence and mayhem.
As I said at the time, the violence, chaos, and loss of life in Charlottesville were not the fault of "many sides." They were the fault of racists and white supremacists. And when we remain silent in the face of injustice and intolerance, or refuse to call it out when we see it, we do nothing but embolden its perpetrators.

I pledged last year to fight in every corner of Virginia to stamp out hatred. To show that racists, neo-Nazis, neo-Confederates, white supremacists, white nationalists, and any other domestic terror groups have no home in our Commonwealth. And I promise that today, a year later, I'm still fighting just as hard, as I will be next year, the year after that, and every year thereafter.
Our Commonwealth and our country can leave no doubt that hate, racism, and white supremacist violence will be rejected, condemned, and denounced. We will not shrink from the challenge or give ground to these cowards.
This weekend, please take a moment to remember those who lost their lives one year ago, and recommit yourself to the values we hold dear, and to the important work of building a Commonwealth and a nation where each of us can live free from fear.
