The fix is in.

In his most brazen move yet to insulate himself from the consequences of his actions, Donald Trump has nominated a Supreme Court justice who appears ready to shield him from any fallout from the Mueller investigation.

Brett Kavanaugh -- a controversial nominee vetted by the arch-conservative Federalist Society -- once wrote that a President should not be indicted while he is in office.

It’s doubly infuriating that his nomination comes just as Virginians were beginning to see some real progress on issues like education and health care.

A right-wing ideologue like Kavanaugh is likely to cast the deciding vote to overturn both Roe vs Wade and the Affordable Care Act.

Kavanaugh has a long partisan history, serving in the Bush White House and on the Ken Starr investigation of President Clinton.

Now more than ever we need elected officials with the courage to stand up to Donald Trump, not rubber stamp his regressive agenda...

BLAST FROM THE PAST: MESSAGE TO ALL PROGRESSIVES: 2008-2016, A PROGRESSIVE LEGACY HANDED TO DONALD TRUMP WITHOUT A FIGHT. PART 1.

A PROGRESSIVE LEGACY
Over the last Eight Years we have seen Progressive Democrats support
an Economic Policy that included;

-  An increase in the Federal Minimum Wage of 7.25/ hr.
Which was opposed, and killed, by Congressional Republicans.
( However, on the State Level, there are examples of Minimum Wage
Guidelines that the Republican Party couldn't stop).

-  Expanding the Time Period for receiving Unemployment Benefits, to
   Temporarily Relieve Financial Distress associated with Job loss.

-  Financial Relief for crippling costs incurred through Higher Education.

-  Consumer Laws protecting Americans from predatory practices by
    Dishonest Marketers.

    Of course, this list does not include the AFFORDABLE CARE ACT,
    which resulted in Millions of Americans obtaining Medical Care
    Insurance that would not result in Crippling Debt, or a Dramatic
    Decrease in Their Quality of Life.

The Republicans, besides attempting to stop all of the above, stuck with
the old "TRICKLE DOWN THEORY" OF ECONOMICS. Let's see what
that includes:

TAX BREAK INCENTIVES, WHICH ALLOWS THE RICHEST AMERICANS
TO RETAIN MORE OF THEIR WEALTH, WITH THE HOPE THAT THEY WILL
 PUMP THAT MONEY BACK INTO THE ECONOMY.

TO RECEIVE THIS INCENTIVE, ARE THEY
REQUIRED TO:

-  INVEST IN SPECIFIC INDUSTRIES THAT ARE STRUGGLING?- NO.

-  FINANCIALLY SUPPORT CORPORATIONS WHO PROVIDE A LIVING
   WAGE, OR A MEDICAL PLAN FOR THEIR EMPLOYEES?- NO.

-  ONLY SUPPORT AMERICAN BUSINESSES, INSTEAD OF TAKING THE
    FINANCIAL WINDFALL OVERSEAS?-  NO.

THESE TAX BREAKS ARE BASED ON THE "HOPE" THAT THEY WILL BE USED
TO BENEFIT THE COUNTRY AS A WHOLE.

However, don't worry. If these incentives are used unwisely, and the MONEY DISAPPEARS,
ALL IS NOT LOST. CORPORATIONS FORMED ARE PLACED INTO BANKRUPTCY,
MEANING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE FOOTING THE BILL FOR POOR MONEY
MANAGEMENT.  AS FOR THE WEALTHY INDIVIDUALS WHO RECEIVED THE
TAX BREAK BENEFITS, AND LOST THE MONEY? THEY WILL JUST DECLARE THESE
LOSSES ON THEIR INDIVIDUAL TAX RETURNS, AND BASICALLY GET IT ALL BACK.

Virginia Senator Tim Kaine recently announced his re-election bid with a salute to the closing words of the Pledge of Allegiance: “with liberty and justice for all.”

Then he emphasized the importance of “for all.”

We made great strides last year in empowering folks from all walks of life to run for statewide office. Yet Republicans still seem more concerned about pleasing the wealthy and the special interests that make up their donor class.

America just observed the Fourth of July holiday, which commemorates the day our Founding Fathers struck a blow against tyranny and ratified the Declaration of Independence.

It was a landmark moment for free speech.

Today we have a president who would rather praise the world’s tyrants than fight them...who would rather suppress free speech than celebrate it.

It has never been more important for us to focus on the words “for all.” ...Please help us build a Virginia that embraces diversity and serves everyone.

Country Over Party Newsletter – June Edition. CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE KEN HARBAUGH.

Dear David,   Summer is heating up and so is our campaign! As usual, Ken and the team have been meeting with people all across the district. Here are some June and July updates:   Last month, Ken caught up with a couple old friends. Former Vice President Joe Biden stopped over in Cleveland to swap stories from the campaign trail with Ken and Sherrod Brown.    You may have seen Team Harbaugh volunteers in your neighborhood recently in their bright red t-shirts. As Ken says, one of the most important things a representative can do is SHOW UP! That’s why Ken is meeting as many of his neighbors as he can. So if you see us in your town parade or local coffee shop, come up and say “Hi!”    We’re rolling on with a Country Over Party Town Hall tour all across the OH7.Last week, Ken moderated a panel in North Ridgeville with three phenomenal veterans—Sam Felton of Lorain (USMC), Dean Marks of the Elyria Fire Department (Army Reserve), and Congressman Seth Moulton from the House Armed Services Committee (USMC). The group got together to discuss the unique obstacles that veterans face when returning to civilian life.    Over the next few weeks, Ken is holding Country Over Party Town Halls in Centerburg, Willard, Ontario and Coshocton. We’ve got a bunch of public events planned in all 10 counties.
