Health Care. U.S. REPRESENTATIVE DAVID CICILLINE.
Dear David,
Access to quality, affordable health care should be a right for all Americans, not just a privilege for the wealthy and well-off. That’s why I was so angered to learn that, just a few months after Republicans in Washington passed a new law undermining the Affordable Care Act, some Rhode Island health insurers now want to raise their rates by as much as 10% next year.
Today, Rhode Islanders are working harder than ever just to get by. It’s completely unacceptable that this increase is going to make it even harder for the working people of our state to have affordable health care. Rest assured, I’m going to continue fighting to protect the Affordable Care Act from President Trump and his allies in Congress, and to improve this law so that it works for even more people in our state and across the country.
Senior Resources Fair
As your Congressman, I’m committed to ensuring that our seniors can access the finest resources and services that are available at the local, state and federal levels. Rhode Island seniors deserve the best, and that’s why I hope you will join me at my Woonsocket Senior Resources Fair to be held:

The Beijing Boondoggle
Each day, it seems, we learn more about the systemic corruption in President Trump’s inner circle. Like all Americans, I was stunned when the President actually advocated for propping up a failing Chinese telecom company a few weeks ago. He was elected to create jobs in this country, not halfway around the world.
It turns out that the President took this action just a few days after the Trump Organization received a $500 million loan from the Chinese government. So far, the Trump administration has completely failed to give a satisfactory answer for why this apparent quid pro quo is appropriate. I want answers, and last week I led more than 60 of my colleagues in writing a letter to the Office of Government Ethics to ask that they open a formal investigation into this matter. Click here to read the letter for yourself. I’ll be sure to keep you updated on any news around this request.
Equality for All Americans
Our country was founded on the idea that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court declined to affirm this basic principle yesterday when they ruled against a same-sex couple that just wanted to buy a cake for their wedding.
In order to ensure full equality for LGBT individuals in our country, Congress needs to pass the Equality Act, which I’ve introduced along with Senator Jeff Merkley. Click here to learn more about how the Equality Act will ensure that all Americans, including LGBT individuals, are treated as equals in the eyes of the law.

Fourteen points. CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE STEPHEN SEVIGNY, MD
Dear David,
Seven in ten likely voters in the Democratic Primary are undecided.
We have 89 days to reach them with Steve's values. 89 days to show them his passion for transforming the belief that healthcare is a human right into public policy that ensures everyone gets all the care they need without fear of financial hardship.
Our first poll, in addition to showing that the race is wide open, tells us that if we have the resources to inform voters about Steve, his values and ideas, we are strongly positioned to win this primary.
We do something called an "informed ballot" where each of the candidate's bios and base messages are tested. It gives us an understanding of how the race will develop as voters get more engaged in the election. The results were pretty telling - they show that it's a two-way race, Sevigny 31, Soderberg 32.
After testing our own negatives and those of our leading opponent, it gets even clearer - Steve is the candidate voters will choose if they have the opportunity to get to know him, by fourteen points.
That isn't hard for me to believe. I've done this a long time, and I only work with candidates that I believe should win. People that will be terrific representatives of the people, fighting with passion, and putting people first.
Steve is one of those people. When I first heard him talk about the importance of the Children's Health Insurance Program to families with disabled children, I was hooked. It was all heart with a depth of knowledge not just of the policy, but the practical impacts on families.
We need champions who can speak like that in Congress. That's why I'm here working to elect Steve and why so many of you have joined the team. Thank you for your support and let's all buckle in for three months of fury as we work to win this primary and then keep it going as part of a tremendous blue wave in November.
Solidarity,
Mario Piscatella

HUGE news (Senator Hassan endorsement). GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE MOLLY KELLY.
Dear David,
Molly got some big news today – Senator Maggie Hassan endorsed her to be our state's next governor!
Maggie knows what real leadership in the governor's office looks like. But our state is sorely lacking it today. Chris Sununu is taking our state in the wrong direction.
New Hampshire can count on Molly because of her consistent track record on the issues that matter most. She's stood up for public schools and students; championed women's rights and Planned Parenthood; voted for marriage equality nearly 10 years ago; introduced and got group net metering legislation to the governor's desk; and advocated for commonsense gun safety measures when it was not popular. Being progressive and fighting for these issues isn't new to Molly.
As governor, Molly will partner with Senator Hassan to make college more affordable, provide more opportunities for working families and build a New Hampshire that works for everyone, especially for children and families.
Craig
