TO THE DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP:

THIS IS HILARIOUS; YOU HAND DONALD TRUMP THE ELECTION, EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE OBVIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE VOTER COUNTS IN CERTAIN KEY STATES, (SEE MY SERIES OF POSTS ON THIS ISSUE), AND YOUR "SHOCKED" BY HIS BEHAVIOR. YOU HAD A CHANCE TO STAND UP, AND DEMAND, AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE NONSENSICAL RETURNS WHICH GAVE HIM THE WHITE HOUSE. AS FAR AS I KNOW, NOT ONE OF YOU DID. YOUR COMPLAINTS MEAN NOTHING TO THOSE WHO WILL SUFFER WHEN THIS DEMAGOGUE TAKES OFFICE.

Trying to understand the Democratic Parties response to the Donald Trump win in the Presidential Election has been difficult.  It is almost surreal, for it is like they have never met THIS REPUBLICAN PARTY.

Think I am being Unfair. Consider This:

You're a Republican, planning future strategy. You have seen your party go through Eight Years
of an Obama Presidency, and no matter how often your Party Thwarted Attempts by the President and other Progressive Democrats to help the American People, your Diatribe, Half-Truths, and Race Baiting etc., have managed to fool enough of the Electorate so that you lost nothing at the polls.

What is even better, YOU NEVER HAD TO SEEK OUT COMPROMISE. NO MATTER WHAT YOU DID, OR WHAT YOU SAID, ENOUGH PEOPLE TOOK IT AS TRUTH, AND BLAMED MOST OF THE COUNTRIES PROBLEMS ON THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT.

USING RELIGIOUS ZEALOTRY, WHAT YOU COULDN'T BLAME ON THE PRESIDENT, YOU PUT ON THOSE WHO DIDN'T BLINDLY AGREE WITH YOUR BRAND OF CHRISTIANITY, WHICH IS NOT A DOCTRINE OF PEACE, BUT ONE OF HATE AND PREJUDICE.

However, it gets even better. After eight years of Economic and Social Progress, with the country much better off than it was before President Obama took office, you were able to elect an Unscrupulous Demagogue to the highest office in the land. Running on a Platform of almost Pure Hate, appealing to the Basest of Human Emotions, it was a campaign Histories Dictators would be proud of. Yet, even with all this...

...the Democrat Party is accepting the President Elects offer to heal the Division in this Country.
(A Division caused almost exclusively by your parties words and actions).

What does this tell you?

-  THAT NO MATTER HOW REPREHENSIBLE THE REPUBLICAN PARTIES BEHAVIOR IS, IT DOESN'T MATTER.

-  REACH OUT TO ALL THE BIGOTS, RACISTS, HOMOPHOBES, AND OTHER HATERS THAT YOU CAN, IT DOESN'T MATTER.

-  PROMOTE ANGER, VIOLENCE, AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL BEHAVIOR. IT DOESN'T
MATTER.

IN THE END, IT IS THE DEMOCRATS WHO WILL COME CALLING, HOPING, THAT THIS
TIME, YOU WILL BE REASONABLE.

THE FOOLS...

WHAT A SHAME. TELEVISION: HOW DO I KNOW IF IT IS WORTH MY TIME? PT 1.

This is a Question that should be Simple to Answer. Shows that Promote Pseudoscience and Pseudohistory are Often Advertised in ways that are almost Comical and Satirical in Nature. 

However, should all Programming be Disregarded if Commercials about such Shows Indicate a Lack of Professionalism and/or Intellectual Discipline, with little regard for Proper Research Methods?

This Depends on the Type Viewing Experience that you want to have.

Suppose you want to be "ENTERTAINED", WITH NO REAL DESIRE TO EVALUATE THE TRUTH OR REALITY OF WHAT YOU ARE SEEING.

WATCHING "TALL TALES", which are not meant to Impart Factual Data, but to ENCOURAGE "SUSPENSION OF BELIEF" AS A WAY TO ENJOY THE STORY, ARE THE BEST EXAMPLES OF THESE.  If this is Appealing to you, Tune In, and Treat it like an OLD FASHIONED "CAMPFIRE" STORY, WHICH IS NOT INTENDED TO BE A LEARNING OPPORTUNITY.

HOWEVER, IF YOU WANT TO MIX ENTERTAINMENT WITH AN EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY, AND VALUE THE "SUBSTANCE" OF WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO WATCH, THAN YOUR STANDARDS WILL HAVE TO CHANGE.

THIS IS WHERE THE HANDLING OF THE SUBJECT MATTER IS IMPORTANT. IF ATTEMPTS TO DECEIVE YOU INTO ACCEPTING BOGUS OR FAULTY INFORMATION AS FACTUAL OFFENDS YOUR SENSE OF INTELLECTUAL HONESTY AND INTEGRITY, THEN AVOID CERTAIN PROGRAMS COMPLETELY.

The Problem is: How can we KNOW?

Sometimes, the COMMERCIALS/TEASERS GIVE US A PRETTY GOOD IDEA. If not, the First Few Minutes, INTRODUCING THE SUBJECT,  AND THE HOSTS OR "INVESTIGATORS", MAY LEAVE SOME CLUES ABOUT THE MATERIAL THAT IS TO FOLLOW ON THE SCREEN.

CLAIM OR TEASER #1-  "THIS WILL REWRITE HISTORY"...OR..."THIS WILL SIT SCIENCE ON ITS HEAD."

Although I am not going to say that it is a CERTAINTY, ANY PROGRAM THAT USES SUCH DIALOGUE TO BEGIN THE EPISODE IS PROBABLY...

FROM A TIME WHEN WORLD LEADERS COULD DO OR SAY ANYTHING

WITHOUT SANCTIONS. DOES IT REMIND YOU OF ANY CURRENT HEADS OF STATE?

"...I have the absolute right to PARDON myself..."

DONALD TRUMP.

We have a great division in the U.S., and it is a tragedy of certain groups using religion as a tool to bend every American to their restrictive code of morality.  Too often, they listen to populist media outlets and self-serving political pundits, and suspend their ability to think critically.  

In past articles, I have reviewed the text of the U.S. Constitution and analyzed any sections that were related to religion.  As we have seen, this can be found in only two places; Article Six and the First Amendment.

From these passages, we can understand the place religious faith was meant to occupy in terms of public policy making and the creation of new laws.  Since that topic has already been covered, I will not repeat it here.  However, I would like to address a subject that is seldom discussed among students of American History: The role European History had in shaping the opinions of those drafting and creating the Constitution, in terms of what role religion would play in forming the new government.

The Framers of the Constitution were a product of the "ENLIGHTENMENT", a philosophical movement that emphasized the use of reason and intellectual reflection in solving social and political conflicts, with less emphasis on faith and traditional church doctrine. 

Too often, European Monarchs used the idea of the "Divine Right of Kings" as a justification for their throne. Throughout the middle ages, the average "Citizen or Subject", lived a life filled with disease, hunger, and physical hardship. Religion and the concept of "A Heavenly reward for the righteous" offered a promise that Death would bring what life couldn't:  Eternal Happiness.

It was under these conditions that European Royalty realized an important truth; To secure the Throne, and guarantee succession of their Bloodline, endorsement by a Religious Hierarchy would naturally lead to obedience from the faithful.  After all, who was going to tell GOD that the wrong person was on the throne.

Organized Religion also benefited, for while they claimed to have GOD on their side, there was no Martial Force to protect them from rival faiths who wished to compete for the souls of the citizenry.  However, put the right person on the Throne, and your opponents may suddenly become very quiet.  Cold Steel can be a powerful persuader, if it is pressed to your neck.

The Framers of the Constitution realized the inherent hypocrisy of this "European Tradition", and did not want it transposed to the new Constitutional Republic.  That is why the following words mean so much:  "WE THE PEOPLE...", no reference to a Deity or a Sovereign.  Perhaps, for the first time in history, intellect alone was the foundation for forming a Government.

Religious Faith can be a great source of comfort and relief to the faithful.  However, spiritually, it must come from within.  If it comes from a ruling class, and their ecclesiastical allies, then it is a case of might makes right.
