We had 20 women on the ballot on Tuesday. THEY ALL WON. EMILY'S LIST.

David,

GREAT news — all 20 of our candidates won their primary elections on Tuesday night!
  • All three of our U.S. House candidates won their primaries — Kathy Manning (NC-13), Betsy Rader (OH-14), and Liz Watson (IN-09).

  • In North Carolina, all three of our endorsed state legislative candidates won, as did our candidate for Durham County District Attorney.

  • And in Ohio, our candidate for secretary of state and all 12 of our state legislative candidates won their primaries!
This is just the start. Because in May, there are major primary elections almost every week, which means there are just FOUR DAYS to go until our next election day!

We have 21 candidates on the ballot this coming Tuesday in Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. And they're running in races for U.S. House, governors' seats, and state legislatures. For one candidate, Helen Tai — who's running for the Pennsylvania House — it's both her special election AND her primary.

Let's make sure we support them like we did our women in North Carolina, Ohio, and Indiana.

Thanks,

Lucinda Guinn
Vice President of Campaigns, EMILY's List

We Did It! CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE KEN HARBAUGH.

This is what victory looks like, David.

And hard work. And late nights. And teamwork.

But you know what else this is? THE BEGINNING.

Because we are about to do it all over again. Bigger. More door-knocking. More Town Halls. More honest conversations about putting COUNTRY OVER PARTY.

Ken won his Primary Election today. And he is grateful for all you did to get him here. Whether you donated or volunteered or just cheered from the sidelines, today’s win is sponsored by YOU.

Tonight, we celebrate. Tomorrow, the big dance begins.

FEATURE ARTICLES. HOW CAN WE FIGHT TERRORISM? PT 1.

Terror, Attacks, Stop, Victims

Exactly what is TERRORISM?

-  What are the Goals behind it, and what are the Motivations?

-  Do the Methods Used by Terrorists Work, in Achieving the Desired Goals?

-  Are the Tactics of Terrorists Self- Defeating, always Doomed to Failure, or are They Practical, and Often lead to Success?

-  Should Terrorist Tactics be Answered in Kind?

The First Question that must be Addressed is simply, what is TERRORISM?

First, Terrorism is not an Ideology, it is a Means to an End. There are no Specific Set of Rules or Written Doctrine that Encompasses all Terrorist Groups and Individuals, and no Identifiable Code of Law or Morality that is Universal in Nature.

To Clarify, I will Define TERRORISM as : THE USE OF VIOLENCE, OR THREAT OF SUCH, TO ADVANCE THE DOCTRINE, IDEOLOGY, RULES, OR GOALS OF A GIVEN AND IDENTIFIABLE GROUP THAT IS NOT GENERALLY REGARDED AS A LEGITIMATE POLITICAL ENTITY, OR THE RECOGNIZED LEGAL AUTHORITY FOR A RESIDENT POPULATION OR GEOGRAPHICAL AREA.

HOWEVER, THE TARGETS OF SUCH VIOLENCE ARE NOT TRADITIONAL, SUCH AS MILITARY INSTALLATIONS AND GOVERNMENTAL OFFICES. CIVILIAN POPULATION CENTERS, BUSINESS AND CONSUMER DISTRICTS, AND PLACES OF RELIGIOUS WORSHIP BECOME THE PREFERRED AREAS TO CREATE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION.  THE DESIRE IS TO ESTABLISH A DISRUPTION IN NORMAL ACTIVITIES, AND A GENERAL SENSE OF PANIC AMONG THOSE WHO FREQUENT, OR LIVE IN THESE AREAS.

THE PURPOSE-  CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE THAT WILL CAUSE THE CIVILIAN/MERCHANT POPULATION TO  BECOME SO TRAUMATIZED AND FRIGHTENED, THAT IT FORCES THE POLITICAL/GOVERNMENTAL POWERS RESPONSIBLE FOR ADMINISTERING AND PROTECTING THESE AREAS, TO GRANT CONCESSIONS, ENTER INTO NEGOTIATIONS, OR AGREE TO THE STATED GOALS AND POLICIES OF THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.

The Terrorist(s) are not Interested in the Traditional Types of Warfare and Combat.
WHY?  Because They Usually Lack the Numbers and Quality of Combatants and Armaments to Engage in Set Piece Battles.  So to Attack Military and Civilian Strong Points that are Well Protected would be Useless.  The Terrorists would be going up against Forces Designed and Trained to Meet, Engage, and Defeat Opposing Forces Conducting Normal Combat Operations.

Is Terrorism a New Phenomena, or can we Find Examples in other Parts of Human History?  Is it an External Threat Alone, or is there an Internal Danger Just as Dangerous and Potentially Destructive.

LOOK FOR PART 2.

Proud to be endorsed by VoteVets. CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE JOSH WELLE.

David,

Our campaign just earned a huge endorsement today from VoteVets. This is an important endorsement as we try to flip New Jersey’s 4th District from 37-year incumbent Chris Smith.

My 12 years in the Navy taught me to put country over party and serve others first. I’m honored to receive the support of VoteVets, which does incredible work to advocate for veterans returning to public service.

VoteVets is a federal non-partisan political action committee, which primarily helps elect Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran candidates and educates voters about veterans and military issues. Notable endorsements include US Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) and Governor Ralph Northam (D-VA).

“Josh is someone who excels when it comes to serving others – it’s what motivates him,” said Jon Soltz, Iraq War Veteran and Chair of VoteVets. “That’s the kind of mindset we need in Washington, right now – someone who puts service above self. Additionally, Josh has desperately needed national security experience, that we need in Congress, to ensure that America stays secure, in an increasingly dangerous world. We’re very proud to endorse him.”

At a time when less than one-fifth of Congress has any military experience, this midterm election is critical to bring the voices of veterans to the forefront when we face a lot of uncertainty on the global stage.
