THE MYSTERIOUS WORLD. THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE. PT 4.

After the inspection of the hold, First Mate Martin told the Inquiry that he ordered the return to the 

JUPITER by the Boarding Party.

"Finding no Trace of the Crew, we returned to the Launch, and proceeded back to the Ship.

Captain Wallace, Master of the JUPITER, was then brought back to be questioned by Maritime Officials.

When asked what he did after receiving First Mate Martins report, Wallace replied that the apparent Abandonment of the ALBATROSS, by its crew, made no sense.

"She was reported to be Sound and Watertight, the reason for leaving her was puzzling."

Wallace then continued, "I realized little could be accomplished by remaining alongside this Ship, and being on a Schedule with the JUPITER, I raised Sail and continued on Course to the next Port of Call."

-----  Well that is the end of the story.  As I said at the beginning, this is a work of Fiction.  However, it has Elements in it that are common among many Weird Stories and Legends told about the BERMUDA TRIANGLE.

However, it is these similarities among many of the stories that casts doubt on the Reality or Truth regarding many parts of the Tale.  In fact, sometimes it leaves us with the Conclusion that the Story is 100% Fiction.  The Reason is simple;  That the Research is often incomplete, and that many of the related facts are of Dubious Quality.  Additionally, the Omission of Certain Data makes Identifying the Story as a real event virtually impossible.

What do I mean?  Lets take a look at the body of the story.

1)  The story Initially starts out as relating a story that seems to be taken from a Newspaper or Periodical.  Yet, the name is never revealed, nor is the Identity of the Writer or the Reporter.  The Complete Date may not be revealed, making Research Verifying the details very difficult.

2)  Official sounding Terms like "Maritime Officials", "Inquiry", "Testimony" are often included to give the story an Illusion of Authenticity, since "Government" became involved in the Mystery.  They are also Vague Enough to sound Realistic and Plausible, but Specific Agencies and Individuals are not named or Identified.

Sometimes, it's what is not said or revealed in the story, that gives us the biggest clue about the Authenticity of the Tale.

QUICK HITTERS. THE DONALD TRUMP ERA: WHEN HATE OVERCOMES REASON, OR JUSTICE. PT 1.

If there is one thing that many americans have realized by now is that Donald Trump, and those who support him, define certain words such as "FREEDOM" AND "RIGHTS,"  in a most unusual way. The reason? To give a voice to the IRRATIONAL, BIGOTED, RASCIST,etc., individuals and groups who needed an Outlet and Spokesperson who would lend "RESPECTABILITY" TO THEIR DOCTRINE OF HATE.

In the past, such attitudes were hidden beneath the Trappings of such concepts as "PATRIOTISM" and "RELIGIOUS FAITH."  However, these Beliefs were losing their fight against SOCIAL CHANGE, with the gains made by Minority Groups during the 20th Century. Racial, Gender, and Same Sex Organizations fought lengthy battles to achieve Equality of Treatment and Opportunity, and with the aid of LIBERAL/PROGRESSIVE ALLIES, such Goals were coming to pass.

Unfortunately, THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF THE LAST FEW YEARS HAS, TIME AND AGAIN, REFUSED TO STAND UP TO THE FAR RIGHT WING OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, TO THE POINT OF IGNORING THINGS LIKE;

-  THE UNCONSTITUTIONAL DENIAL OF A MANDATED HEARING FOR PRESIDENT OBAMAS CHOICE FOR THE VACANCY ON THE SUPREME COURT.

-  THE BOGUS, AND RIGGED ELECTION RESULTS THAT PUT TRUMP IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

-  DONALD TRUMP USING HIS TITLE TO PROMOTE FINANCIAL "GET RICH QUICK SCHEMES" ON THE INTERNET.

When the AMERICAN PEOPLE NEEDED THEM, THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY CHOSE TO DO NOTHING, AND NOW WERE PAYING FOR IT.  It is very easy to SOUND ANGRY AND OFFENDED AFTER THE FACT, WHEN THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN DONE.

EXAMPLE:  INSTEAD OF FILING SUIT AGAINST THE REPUBLICAN PARTY FOR VIOLATING CONSTITUTIONAL LAW BY REFUSING TO HOLD HEARINGS FOR BARACK OBAMAS CHOICE FOR THE SUPREME COURT, ( MERRICK GARLAND), THEY COMPLAINED AND DID NOTHING. THIS WEEKS "FILIBUSTER" WAS ALL BARK AND NO BITE, IT HAD NO CHANCE OF BEING SUCCESSFUL.

Events like this have allowed The type of AMERICAN CITIZEN DONALD TRUMP CATERS TO, the confidence to push for even more legislation to turn back the clock on...

FOOLISH INVESTMENTS?

EXACTLY WHICH DEFINITION OF "FREE MARKET CAPITALISM" 

ARE THEY USING?

-  THAT FREEDOM OF RELIGION, TO SOME, MEANS DENYING 

OTHERS CERTAIN OPPORTUNITIES AND CHOICES THAT 

THEY THEMSELVES TAKE FOR GRANTED.

-  EVEN WITH ALL THE ADVANCES IN SCIENCE THAT HAVE 

BEEN MADE, ENHANCING THE QUALITY AND LENGTH OF LIFE 

FOR HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS, THERE ARE STILL THOSE WHO 

WANT RELIGIOUS FAITH, INSTEAD OF THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD,

TO BE THE DETERMINING FACTOR IN FINDING ANSWERS ABOUT, 

AND UNDERSTANDING, THE NATURAL UNIVERSE. 

I Think the Answer lies with the Idea that certain Blocs of Voters Hang

"Tags" on Themselves, about what They Believe, and what They 

Represent.  However, the Labels They Choose are Often Wishful

Thinking, and Upon Inspection, NOT BASED IN REALITY.

Unfortunately, Their Opponents do not challenge these Assertions, 

which allows these groups to get away with making Statements and

Judgments that are in OPPOSITION TO THE IMAGE THEY ARE 

TRYING TO MAINTAIN.

WHAT A SHAME- A look at the low points in the modern media. PSEUDOSCIENCE ON TELEVISION- LOGIC AND THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD NEED NOT APPLY: WHAT'S IN A NAME?

THE PRODUCERS OF PSEUDOSCIENCE TELEVISION PROGRAMS Employ Several Other Gimmicks, in Hopes That it will Grant Them a Measure of SCIENTIFIC RESPECTABILITY IN THE EYES OF VIEWERS.  THIS IS TO COUNTER THE ALMOST UNIVERSAL SCORN THAT COMES FROM ACADEMIC AND SCHOLARLY CIRCLES.

-  WHAT DO THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE IN COMMON, IN TERMS OF THEIR VALUE TO THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY?

SCIENTIST.

THEORIST.

RESEARCHER.

INVESTIGATOR.

PSYCHIC.

.... among others.

They are Designations that ARE USED ON PSEUDOSCIENCE PROGRAMS, REFERRING TO THOSE WHO APPEAR AND ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN THE "EVENTS" BEING FILMED FOR THAT PARTICULAR EPISODE.

They sound Impressive Don't They?  Wouldn't it be great if you could tell others you too were a "Scientist" or "Theorist"?  Where can you get the kind of EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR KNOWLEDGE TO JOIN THESE EXALTED RANKS?

Actually, NO WHERE SPECIAL. THESE ARE TERMS THAT REQUIRE NO SPECIAL LICENSING, EDUCATION, OR SKILL SETS TO BE ACQUIRED FOR YOU TO REFER TO YOURSELF, OR ANYONE ELSE, WITH ONE OF THESE TITLES.

(PSYCHIC, UNLIKE THE OTHERS, HAS NO REAL SCIENCE OR SOUND REASONING BEHIND IT, TO INDICATE THAT SUCH AN ABILITY EVEN EXISTS.) 

In other Words, anytime you hear one of these Terms Used to Describe someone appearing on the TV Screen, DON'T BE FOOLED INTO THINKING THEY KNOW ANY MORE THAN YOU DO ABOUT ANY GIVEN SUBJECT OR TOPIC.
